Mich St. had serious issues scoring on Indiana's zone defense. And they had absolutely nothing to stop Ballo and Reneau down low.

Unfortunately we don't play zone, and our big men aren't post players.

But I still expect a win. 😜
Agreed on the first point, totally disagree on the second, but we absolutely agree on the last. 😂

Last year, MSU came here following a loss to Northwestern an we beat them without TSJ. it will be hard fought, but we should win.

Big basketball day for me on Saturday!

At 11:30 my 8th grade son plays in state (elite 8)! If they win, they play again Saturday evening! Championship would be on Thursday!

They won regionals last week, then sectionals last night. Lots of fun! If you’re still reading this..sorry to bore you, but we are 20-3. Lost first and third game of season, cruised for a streak, then lost to a team we had beaten by 28 earlier this season, and now we are on a roll again. Last year we were 19-2 regular season and would have been undefeated had it not been for sickness. Matched up with a team better than us in the regional championship, and lost by 4 or 5. Been a fun couple years!! Happy to get some hardware this year.

…then the illini game plays second fiddle Saturday night! Beat them!

Indiana beats MSU in East Lansing? Seriously? What a conference the BIG is! Purdue also got beat. I still see that Pomeroy has us at #15, a couple spots behind Wisconsin. Maryland and Michigan at 18 and 19. Mich. State falls to #21.

I, for one, would like KJ to actually be allowed to play in this one, unlike in that horror show in East Lansing. Please and thank you.
I am still lol that it was a one-possession game at the end in EL and we could easily have won it. I mean, BU must have smiled at Izzo in the handshake line: "Yeah, the refs beat us but we owned you this afternoon, in your own house, w/o our 20+ ppg star."

This may be a revolutionary idea but I think the key to winning is starting hot offensively and opening the game in zone defense.

MSU is ranked 351 out of 364 in 3-pt percentage, why not just clog the lane and make them shoot threes in a hostile environment?

What exactly is BU's aversion to zone?

I think this is a pretty good idea. I'm skeptical BU will do it, and I normally would agree with him. But after watching IU/MSU last night after our game I think it is a good strategy. Obviously, if MSU hits a couple quick threes simply go back to man; and you don't need to zone the whole game. But in spots I think it makes sense Saturday.

Which is precisely what teams do to us, to be honest. But here's the thing: they have capable 3-point shooters. The percentage is low because their three highest volume 3-point shooters only make them at a 28% clip. But if it was just Jase Richardson (38%) and Jeremy Fears (42%) taking the shots, they would probably have better success. Akins on his own has taken 123 from deep.
