Line is only -3 illinois. Vegas seems to think this game has MSU written all over it
Vegas hasn't had a ton of confidence in us after losing TSJ, and why should they? But, we covered by 5.5 vs Purdue and not sure what the line was vs Northwestern, but seemed like we blew the doors off of them. Vegas still isn't convinced, let's show 'em again tonight.
My worry is the big ten needs Michigan state to win this game for the league optics with how weak the rest of the conference appears to be shaping up. I always fear games like this.
This is such a huge game in terms of our chances for a big ten title & our ceiling. If we win this one we should feel pretty confident in our next 5 games before heading to Columbus. No gimmies at all, but an easy stretch in middle of January for us…

If you consider Ken Pom, who isn't factoring in TSJ not playing, has it at -6. Evan Miya's site has it 6 as well. T rank has it at -3.5. So basically Vegas is subtracting 3 points for Shannon. Originally 3.5. So that doesn't seem that crazy. But also, we have played about the same on offense without Shannon maybe slightly better. Still, our depth has not really been tested, defensively we are objectively worse without Shannon, and we just don't have a lot of bodies to throw at teams right now. So the line doesn't really strike me as that crazy.
Hope they let 'em play.I think it will be a very physical game. Prediction?
I agree, not crazy at all at -3, objectively that's right on the money. Just me hoping we are actually as good as we've shown the last 3 games without TSJ.

No thank you. Illinois has not had a lot of games with foul trouble so calling a tighter game would be a benefit to us if MSU is going to play a physical style.
But our bench is getting pretty short. IF Hansberry and Moretti are still injured and on the bench with Harris, we are down to about eight players and Rodgers has missed time this week with illness. Can't afford foul trouble.
