So many to choose from. I couldn't stop at one.
Can’t stop, won’t stop!

Oh gosh, the board’s gonna have a field day with this one, huh? Matt, why would you admit this….
Just gonna say it: this is ridiculous BS. Maturity issues being shown. How many NBA teams are letting a guy miss practice over personal nonsense and drama like this?

BU needs to do something here but I could also see where his options are somewhat limited.

But what do you do with one of your star players if this is how they show their commitment to the team and to winning games?

This team has a leadership void, and MM is Exhibit A.

Biggest game of the season tonight. Win, and we need to beat Purdue, and win a couple in the BTT to get a 7 seed in the Big Dance. Lose tonight, and we genuinely need to lose out (Purdue, and first game of BTT), then hope we end up with a 10 in the Big Tourney. We gotta avoid the top half of brackets at all costs, and the worst thing we can do at this point is split these games down the stretch.

They have two more Big Ten games(including tonight), the BTT game(s), then the NCAAT game(s). What do you expect him to do? It's a little late to "send a message".

I think that everyone knew that when bringing MM aboard that he was a bit of a free spirit. This isn't or shouldn't be a surprise.

Have to roll with it, let the chips fall where they may, then deal with "culture" after the season ends. No other choice.

College kids do dumb things. We all did dumb things when we were their age. It just the way it is. Now that I am older, I would not think of doing something like this.

Dude is from Westlake which is about as far from austin weird as you can get still being in Austin.

'Keeping Austin Weird' is not only a generational point of pride and right of passage... but this is proudly trumpeted by the Chamber of Commerce as a regional State of Being. And that area of the Austin region just seems to thrive on their well-established affluence and for-granted expectations of success in various endeavors.

When I see Mayer I see a future Bill Walton... not as that type of player but as that kind of kindred free-spirit with the thrill of something unexpected coming out of his mouth at any moment. We can look forward to future NCAA telecasts when Walton is off doing some kind of Walton-thing and it's Matt who sits along side Jason Benetti and both mystifying and worrying him about what he night say next.

But that's after Mayer's NBA career when he sets the league record of lofting 40 shots some night from Three-land and scores 89 points.

And he'll remind Jason of that feat every chance he gets.

I think you're assuming he knew it would make him sick. It's entirely possible he's had 3 or 4 before without incident, and overdid it without knowing that this time would be different. In the relative scheme of poor judgment, this seems pretty minor to me.
Exactly. I have eight years on Matthew, and I regularly *accidentally* drink *too much* of various types of drinks several times per month, so I gotta cut him some slack. :ROFLMAO:

I'm guessing from your username, you are indeed the "day man". Which means you've also had past problems with huffing glue and got addicted to the taste of human meat (which turned out to be raccoon meat).

Didn't Shannon come to us with two years of eligibility left? Thought that was the case, could be wrong.

Exactly what I thought when I read this. So he plays video games and pounded too many energy drinks....like every other college kid. Why is this news?
