@Rutgers also loss and @PSU next toughest. My guess is we win one of those and lose one we have in the win column. However win the next four and we will be talking National championship. We always try to be realistic here.
I will be at both games, testing my mojo.

I admit I will most likely not be making it to Champaign this year (recent move to Chicago, starting school, girlfriend's new job, etc. have restricted our leisure travel), so I don't know if this is hypocritical or whatever, but ... we better sell out our remaining home games! I totally get why our fans have been hesitant to buy in after a decade of disappointment, but these boys are for real. For our remaining home games, I want to see the Orange Krush of old and our seats filled with orange again! It's high time that Champaign gets back to being thought of as one of the most intimidating places to play in the nation.

P.S. I WILL be making it to our game in Evanston in February, and - given how bad NU is, recordwise - I hope to see that place over 50% orange. :p

Just locked in my ticket for the MSU game on 2/11.

Had to pay ~$150 for a section 137 ticket, but you can’t put a price on good Illini basketball.

I would worry, but only a wee bit, about Iowa.

They play Wisconsin, @Winsconsin, play Maryland, @Maryland, and Illinois, @Iowa.

ALL in 7 days.

Will be there and Maryland and mich st and Iowa
What a great year to be able to attend games. Those games will be a blast no matter the outcomes, but I hope they're all wins. Enjoy!

Kofi may be running into the Freshman wall - I hope we can give him some reasonable (slightly less) playing time over the next couple of weeks.

i agree he may be hitting a wall... but he’s a real big man so Im betting he busts through it like the darn Kool-Aid man

Minnesota down 13 with 11 to go, not a great shooting team maybe a little zone to stay out of foul trouble

Doesn't seem like Oturu is too interest in running the floor. He's consistently the last one getting back on defense.

He looked very tired. I think the best way to stop Oturu's offense is by attacking him on defense. Feed Kofi and Giorgi, drive the ball relentlessly, and hopefully get him in foul trouble. If he doesn't go off, it's an easy win for us.

it might be more of having to play a seven man rotation these past 2 games, but not having to play til thursday should help

Having just said that, I decided to look up his stats. His minutes for a big man are ridiculous. 35, 39, 38, 38 mpg his last 4 games.

We have the best D in B10. What is more, is that it has improved during B10 play.

Our O is better than the best D in B10.

All Big Ten games are tough. The next 5 games are brutal. We will need total team contribution to win the majority of these games. Some players showing up and others disappearing won't cut it. We have won some games that last year we would have lost which shows maturity. The Big Ten is a jungle and hopefully the king of the forest being us will prevail.

Yes, the next 5 games are tough. But we said that about 5 of the last 6.

I wanted to attend some home games this year but only got to piggyback on football to see the Lewis game. I’ll be making it to Rutgers and PSU. Rutgers is going to be nuts, PSU likely not so much. But the team needs Orange in the stands in away games too.

That jungle created the best D in the B10

(we need a different thread for a surging Illinois. Till then ......................)

2) Surging Illinois

This ............ some badly needed national attention ..............

While Texas and Shaka Smart have some questions they need the answer ( :noidea: one who declined an invite?), the biggest winner of the week might just be Illinois.

The Fighting Illini picked up victories at Purdue and at Michigan, putting them in first place in the Big Ten all by themselves. That ability to win on the road is something no one else in the conference has shown. Road teams have only won 12 games in Big Ten play this season, and Illinois now has three of them.

We know the Illini play great defense – and defense travels – but it has been the improvement of their offense, particularly in the halfcourt, that has allowed them to go on this run of six straight wins. They still don’t shoot it particularly well from three, yet the Illini are executing much better in the halfcourt, which was their biggest weakness.
