I typically don't watch other big 10 games. On vacation this week, so I've had a chance to watch quite a few games. I am enjoying them and I compare the big 10 to this: I'm watching a scary movie and everybody keeps running from barn to barn and when they open the barn doors. They run into machetes, these machetes are swinging in the air and you've got to run through the barn! Lol... I compare the big 10 this year from top to bottom to this scary move. These teams are good! there's a lot of good teams in this league, we got our work cut out for us. I think we can get it done 15- 5 wins the championship let's go Illini. Our up coming schedule is like a horror flic...

T-Rank

Has improved - across the board, with the exception of MSU (@IL) - in our favor.

MN has gone from +3.8 (after MI game) to +4.6.

I'm worried our players may read the hype and get caught in a trap. Chemistry is better and Kofi, Ayo and Trent...give us multiple weapons to break out of offensive funks, which luckily we haven't seen alot lately.
My suggestion to team:
stay confident, play stifling D and dont rest on or trust hype.

Probably a suggestion they've heard 10 times this week, before and after practice, from the coaching staff.

There are four opportunities for let down games left on the schedule.

1)Tonight. Classic trap game right here if they figure playing at home will take care of MN for them.

2)The game after the next loss. Air is going to come out of the balloon. That's only natural. One loss can't turn into three. They haven't had to respond to negativity in a LONG time.

3) Nebraska

4) Northwestern

The stretch coming up here is the toughest I can remember in a long time. Have to win the games they should.....with tonight being one of them.

WE WILL WIN!!! Move up in the polls. Ayo will go off. It will be an interesting battle between Kofi and Oturu . This may be Kofi's biggest challenge tonight. This is a time for GB to be aggressive with his moves down low.

Exactly. Entire offense needs to go right at Oturu, particularly GB and Kofi. Let's get him in early foul trouble and playing on his heels.

Hoping that GB is guarding him when he's on the perimeter. Wanting to keep Kofi in the paint tonight.

Still sitting around 300th (30.4%) in three-point shooting %, but have shot significantly better in the past three games (39.2% - 83rd).

Another step towards respectability and beyond ... can we win with expectations and ranking at home over a good team, a team that's desperate to save its own season and who needs a Q1 win of their own over a ranked opponent on the road ... And we're the ranked team that could give them that Q1 win.

Excitement builds. Can we do it. Of course we can do it. We're the 2020 Fighting Illini.

Where can I find a list of NCAA tourney first/second round sites for this year? Would love to see the Illini but not going to make it anywhere close to Champaign this year. I guess Lincoln isn't too far away tho..

In 2020, Dayton will host the First Four March 17th & 18th and the eight cities hosting first-and-second round games March 19-22 will be Albany, N.Y., Cleveland, Ohio, St. Louis, Mo., Omaha, Neb., Greensboro, N.C., Tampa, Fla., Sacramento, Calif. and Spokane, Wash. The four regional sites include New York, N.Y., Indianapolis, Ind., Houston, Tex. and Los Angeles, Calif. and those games will be played March 26-29. The 2020 Men’s Basketball Championship will conclude at the Final Four in Atlanta, Ga. April 3 and 5th.

The key to this game, as with every other game with this team IMO, is establishing the physicality of it on every possession from the jump. Defense, defense, defense.

After 2 big road B10 wins, this is a trap game. Miami & Missouri come to mind. No Mercy, get on them quick. I feel it's time for a big game from Georgi. Ayo & Trent get 15 a piece too.
Well, first and most importantly, it's Giorgi. And second I agree in that Illinois does not seem to play well after a long break. I guess it would depend if one considers 5 days a longish break. As I said in another post break between games seems longer than the bye week before the NW game. But I am a fan so I don't know so I probably have a different perspective than the players.

Agree Oturu and Garza are the elite bigs in the league...PROVEN. Kofi has an opportunity to be included in that discussion with positive showings against those 2.
