Mizzou is not good, and our offense should be able to overwhelm their bad defense. However...Mark Mitchell is really good, and the type of offensive player we don't have a good answer for, and they DO have a guy who shoots 51% from 3 on high volume (Crews) that could be the guy to get on a heater against us. I think Mitchell is going to get his 15-25 points, and as long as we keep their guards from getting hot from 3, we should win this. Looking forward to being there in person, for sure.
A lot of people have had career games against us the past 2-3 years like Sandfordt did last night. I hope this isn't one for Crews.

Not a real good showing for the beloved yesterday....really sucks but gotta wait a week to get rid of those bad vibes.

Get better how? Do what better? Hire someone who knows how to adapt the defense during the half?

Mizzou is an athletic team that plays a lot of guys. If they want it more they could easily out scrap an Illini team that lives and dies by the bigs shooting 3s. Gonna come down to who can corral loose ball rebounds bc both teams going to fire a lot of 3s.
I've watched a little of Mizzou this year. They are maybe more athletic but are less skilled than we are. Given that records have never meant that much in this game, they are obviously good enough to beat us if they want it more and if they play well. The loss to Nebraska actually makes me a little more positive about our focus in this one.

I get the feeling that he wants us to lose. I couldn’t imagine being this type of fan. Must be so miserable.
Some people get a dopamine kick from grievance and complaint, and feel empty inside when there's nothing to complain about. A little part of this guy probably watches each game hoping we lose so he has something to be upset about.

I see a lot of this:

I think we come out hot and ready, like a hot and ready pizza! Mirk eats Mizzou's lunch at halftime and then we spank em home!
We. Frickin'. Better. Lol...

I emphasized how important it was for us to come out with good energy and toughness in Nashville for me to continue to believe in this team's prospects in March, and we came out and looked great. I was hopeful there wouldn't be a slide back vs. the Huskers, but hey ... I will continue to hold out hope that any given setback is the one that lights a fire under these guys. I don't care if you are from the Balkans or Metro East, if you run out on to the court of Braggin' Rights and see the 50/50 crowd and hear a thunderous roar of applause on every play no matter which team is performing well and you can't get jazzed up?? You have no place as a Division 1 competitor. Add in a disappointing home loss on your home floor where you gifted the opponent a huge lead to start, and any lack of energy in this one is a red flag and a half.

Let's go beat Misery and try to truly get some momentum back heading into Big Ten play!

I waited a few days to write anything. I had to simmer a little. My expectations for this team have went down considerably after Saturday. This is my team and I still believe in them. I will still cheer win or lose. I hope I am wrong but this feels familiar to me. That being said, I don't feel that they are going to compete for a conference title. After watching the Michigan and Arizona games this weekend, my conclusion was ratified. We are definitely not close to that level. The thing is, it can still be a successful year.

The boys need to turn up their intensity to 11 (seems like an appropriate gif for today 😢).

Sad thing is 9 years in I have zero faith in Brad's ability to get guys to show up for games. Even this one. I attended in 2022 & left at the first tv timeout of 2nd half cause we were down 30. It's like the team had zero interest in playing in a big rivalry game. Just absurd lack of care.
