Nebraska’s last 8 games:

7-1 (7th in Torvik over that span. Purdue is 10th in the same timeframe)

79-59 over Michigan
68-49 over Penn St
85-70 over @Indiana
73-55 over Minnesota
69-78 loss @Ohio St
67-56 over Rutgers
85-70 over @Michigan
93-66 over Indiana

Average margin of victory: 14.5

This won’t be easy. But I believe in our guys.
But look who they beat, all bottom feeders.

I'd throw DGL out early on Tominaga and tell him to get physical. You can't let him get comfy again today. Give up some fouls but make him uncomfortable early.
Made me think of the movie "Remember the Titans" when the coach said to his player...."Shut them up" or something along those lines. I'm with you, nothing dirty or un- sportsman like but for sure physical!!!

This. Need to check him from the tip. Whether it's Ty or TJ or DGL or whoever.

He tends to become passive if he doesn't get rolling early.

NET 31, would be a middle Quad 1 win on a neutral court. Probably enough to get to a 3 with the teams above that faltered, huge implications for the Illini's Sweet 16 chances. Big game.
I'm thinking Elite 8 chances. Avoid the 1 seed as long as possible.

Have a feeling this is going to go 1 of 2 ways.

A) Nebraska was so hot yesterday, and can't hit the broad side of a barn today. Just seems like that's how the basketball gods work. We control the game from start to finish. Maybe they cut it to 5 or 6 but we quickly push the lead back out and win by 15.

B) 2 high powered offenses trade blows all game, similar to our Minnesota game. It goes down to the wire and is an instant classic.

Should be by far the best environment of the tourney. I really hope Illinois fans come out in full force.

I'm planning on being too buzzed to read the game thread, but not so buzzed I can't watch the game
No such thing! 😁

I’ll literally be watching this one on my phone at our friend’s kid’s fourth birthday party, lol. Two things working in my favor in this situation:

1) My son is only three months old and obviously cannot “play,” so I will “need to sit by the stroller” with him watching the game while my wife mingles.

2) Apparently this kid’s play place does serve beverages for the adults! 🤣

That's the purest example of "win-win" I've seen this year. (Literally) 100 cocktails to you, sir!

Ok, guess today is script whites with the orange flyin Illini jerseys saved for our win over Purdue.
Let’s do one better!!

Bust out the WHITE Flyin’ Illini uniforms today for Nebraska, and save the ORANGE Script uniforms for tomorrow!

I know it won’t happen, but I’ll never fully give up hope that the DIA and Nike will come to their frickin’ senses…

I'm on a work trip in Taiwan. It's currently 12:37am. Going to catch a few hours sleep during the Purdue game, wake up, watch Illinois win, roll back over, and hope I don't oversleep for my flight back home tomorrow! At any rate, the intermittent sleep tonight might help with the jet lag when I get back? Maybe?

My rule when flying east from East Asia: get on the plane as exhausted as possible while still functional, go to sleep the minute wheels are up, wake up around 5-6 hometown local time. This minimizes post-trip JL. Good luck, and enjoy the game!

If we, as a top 15 team in the country, are worried about Nebraska then we don't deserve to make a big run in the tourney this year.

We should dog walk 'em
Did you our game against them, at home, this year?

We don't do particularly well guarding the three point line.

Actually, I think that we're amongst the worst. Things will end poorly if we can't.

When you go 3 for 16, there's not really much that can happen to be considered ok in a game. He was really bad and that's ok.

I suspect he'll get back on track today.
He was terrible, Hawkins was terrible, Harmon was terrible, Guerrier was MIA, it's amazing we got away with it yesterday.

That's the last win we'll get with that sort of performance. Hopefully it's out of our systems now.
