Really hope the Fighting Illini show up Sunday! A home win would do every one some good!

beginning of "4 games in 7 days" final stretch before the Garden. we have a chance on Sunday if they play like they did at Bloomington.

Nebby has won 9 of their last 11 games and is on a 6 game streak including a fairly impressive win over Maryland on Tuesday. Miles has these guys playing well, and since the MSU blowout in December they haven't lost a game by more than 12 (Purdue). If they maintain their position in B1G standings they get a 2 day bye at MSG. Our guys are going to need to put everything together for 40 to take this one.

I love the beloved and hope I'm wrong but something will happen (another long scoring drought) to snatch victory away...

As long as they win against NE, hang with MSU, beat Purdue & crush Rutgers...I think it will be an OK to good week. :thumb:

I haven't been on here much lately. Is Finke injured?

Oh please crush Rutgers. I was there last year for that humiliation (and I know it was the final nail in Groce’s coffin), and I want my revenge when I’m there Sunday a week. Crush Rutgers.

The team will stay in New York after the Rutgers game, three days before the B10 tourney.

Based on the way we're playing, I think we lose, but not too badly. As a fan, it sucks baaaad to have Nebraska at our house, and be the underdog. What's worse IMO is expecting that half our roster either will either struggle to play with pride, or struggle just to execute.

We should be noticeably improved by this time in the season, and it's not there. I know it's asking too much, but I want 5 guys that play with Trent's pride. His scoring and leadership would be nice too :)

If guys play with pride, they'll improve and set the bar high for themselves. The culture here still worries me. If I see a guy like Kipper compound a mistake with a silly foul again, I might brick my tv.

With a quadrant 3 loss on the line, it is a must win for Nebraska. If we beat anybody on the road it will be a quadrant 4 loss. Ouch.

If this team and coaching staff want to crawl out of last place it starts vs. Nebraska. I’m thinking we roll over in the second half.

Go Illini.

We don't have the horses to beat anyone unless we catch them sleeping. We are constantly in foul trouble with no depth.

Whatever happened to "we can with with our depth"?

Pride is not the problem. We need talent, experience, and athleticism.

To be honest, if Mark Smith and Mark Alstork played up to the potential that this board set for them then we would probably be right on the bubble.

The best part is in about 8 months we will have a new class of freshmen and transfers to put high expectations on. Never ending cycle.

Once again the Illini expect to be shorthanded. Finke still was not cleared to practice as of Saturday, and it looks as if he will miss his third straight game after suffering a concussion in practice.

Look for freshman Greg Eboigbodin to start again in Finke’s place.

De’Monte Williams, who has been out because of a hyperextended knee, is practicing and might be available.

Nebraska needs the win, they have confidence right now, Palmer will haunt us again, but Roby is the key.

Illini have the fight, the will, not the talent, as sad as that is. They will stay close but tail off again with a 6:00 scoring drought.

As I watch the Illini play on television, the section of seats on the right hand side of Orange Krush are always empty. Why is that? Is it that they don't show up in numbers so they scrunch everybody to the middle of that section? Regardless, it makes a bad impression on the TV audience.

Unused seats

"Looking at the Illinois basketball games on television, in the first half at the Illinois basket end, who is supposed to be sitting in the seats at the top right of the screen? They are always empty and look terrible in the TV shot."

Brown said those seats behind the visitors bench are 50 reserved seats for the visiting team.

"Unless they return those to our ticket office, we cannot sell them. Some schools use their allotment and some don't," he said.
