I'm glad Thomas will be available on Saturday. Give him as much game experience as possible in the final game of the season.

I liked what I saw against Purdue. He's the fastest Illinois QB I've ever seen and he's got a nice throwing motion with good touch. I can see why the staff liked him so much as his ceiling is very high.

One thing I'd like to see him do is run out of bounds more or slide on his runs. He seems to like to run right into defenders which is not going to end well for someone with his frame. It's simply not worth it for a few extra yards.

You know how the Alma Mater ends "Victory Illinois Varsity"? We don't have a varsity team. We're sending out a junior varsity team against varsity teams. But our JV team won't be JV forever.

Keep the baby, Faith. He's gonna get older and bigger and stronger and better.

We are a much more consistent team than NW. We always show up for this game; I belive that NW will be overlooking us in this matchup.

UI 28-10 NW.

If by consistently bad, I agree.

We do not always show up for this game, but I think we do here.

NU will not overlook us.

When was the last time we scored 28 points? Given up 10?

Love your enthusiasm, but

The latest line I've seen is Northwestern by 16.5. After the Wildcats' impressive 39-0 beat-down of Minnesota last week, I can't see the Illini having much of a chance: NU 24, Illinois 10.

I do genuinely see UI winning this game by multiple scores. We use our pass rush to get Thoerson rattled in the pocket; get him to throw multiple INT's. Its true he has progressed this season, but im still not sold on him as a top half BIG QB. Look at the N(o)vada game; you can see how he can struggle against a team that can rattle him.

Unless we get multiple pick 6's off those predicted INTs, ain't happening.

Having 11 games of our defensive film to look at, I wonder why on earth you think NW will even bother to attempt to pass.

If you give the UI offense the ball multiple opportunities to score on NW's side of the field, they will score multiple times. George Jr. can throw the rock just like his dad. Im predicting he has a field day; opens up the run game for us.

Not quite. Wish that were the case. Even if it were, our O line has a long way to go to where he'd even be able to get off a good pass look much of the time versus Northwestern. Besides, pretty sure Cam plays QB as long as they think he's healthy enough to go.

You may be overlooking the fact that NU will, in fact, have a D1 defense on the field during the game.

>> George Jr. can throw the rock just like his dad.

JGJr can hit the target directly to the opposing team's DBs with consummate skill.

>> Im predicting he has a field day

The field would be where JGJr will be on his back by taking a sack on a crucial third down.

>> opens up the run game for us.

Except all our RBs are hurt.

Keeping with my pre-season prediction at 2-10.

NW 48
ILL 17

Admittedly, I did partially miss last week vs. OSU in that I thought the Buckeyes would easily cover the 42 point spread. This loss will wrap-up a Top 7 worst-ever season in my viewing lifetime. "Embarrassing" might be the appropriate word. With nearly every starter returning next season, I will be expecting much better on-the-field performance!

Time to turn our attention to basketball.....see you all in Winston-Salem next Tuesday night!

Really expected a better outcome, but 2-10 it is. Again, we likely score a few late points that make the final not quite as embarrassing. We need to show serious improvement next season which I think can happen.

Tix on VividSeats for $2. I’d just maintain the ticket stub for keepsake at that point.

We really have moved on from football... This thread is so empty I can hear echoes as I type.

As for the game, I hope that more Illinois fans show up at Memorial Stadium than Northwestern. Several reasons to go: The Marching Illini's lst performance of the season. The ability to say, "I was there through thick and thin and you weren't." It's better than...name something you don't want to to. Parking will be abundant, and there will be no lines at the concession stands. The word "upset" is still in the dictionary, and it still gets used from time to time, maybe even by us.

We’ll be there. It’s better than raking leaves, putting up Christmas lights, holiday shopping and working. The band has been terrific this year. The weather will be very nice for this time of year. Black Dog still serves great food (or Papa Dels or downtown champaign). AND . . . WE WILL WIN!!!!

Heading down for my first Illini football game, I'm pretty excited. I hope it's a good, close game, and of course an Illini victory. I'm going to pay very close attention to the QB's for both teams and how they compare. It's one thing to watch on TV but I'm just interested in seeing how they handle themselves on the sidelines as well.

I'll be there too. I hope Thomas is the QB and it stays relatively warm.
