Usually requires their starting QB to be out due to injury.

But this year is different. Gonna get it done - keep the D momentum rolling and will play our best total offensive game of the season. Optimistic off-season in the making.

Roll the dice on a bowl game...

Ignoring the rest of the season, beating Northwestern is already progress in my book. We play them every year, and we are 2-8 in our previous 10 meetings, with our last win coming in 2014 (and the other in 2011). Think about that for a sec.

We lose this one, and we will drop to 1-9 in our previous 10 against them. That's unbearably bad.
Coincidentally, in 2014, we beat the same teams in the B1G as we have this season, with NW tbd.

That’s good accuracy picking against us. Lol. Just razzing a bit.

I honestly can’t remember the last time we beat NW. Wrigley Field?
Last win was 2014 in Evanston, "The Reilly O'Toole game" (from fightingillini.com):

"EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) - Reilly O'Toole passed for 147 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 147 yards, Josh Ferguson had a pair of rushing scores and Illinois took advantage of five Northwestern turnovers for a 47-33 victory over its in-state and Big Ten rival on Saturday."

The Wrigley Field game was 2010. Illini are 6W - 15L against the kitty cats 2000 - 2020. Time to flip the script.

I hope we not only win, but absolutely roll the Wildcats. But, I'm sure we'll get a lead and then get conservative. Please, just this once let's pour it on and not stop!

Northwestern always brings it in this game. Get your cups ready.

I recommend withdrawing the entirety of your 401k and betting on the Illini to cover.
I’ve thought every year for five years against NW and every year they come out with energy and we come out flat. This year I’m putting my 401K money on Northwestern.

So you only bet on Illinois to tie?
I think you would be shocked at how high the odds are when you place a bet on a tie in college football. I nearly funded my retirement on the Penn State game. So close. Those rubes out in Vegas clearly don't know what they're doing.

win or lose, overall I would say we took a good first step this season with Bielema. I'm hopeful. Looking for our super seniors to really show up today.
