Morez creeping up in The Most Talked About Former Illini rankings!🤣

I deduced that from former Illini. I was talking more about the throwing Tomi (under the bus in grainy practice footage.
On his way out Morez (or his dad) posted some practice video when Morez abused Tomi one day when he was sick and was dealing with his sprained ankle. Nothing to really see except reinforce that Morez and his dad are lying pricks and should be booed ferociously when they show their sleazy heads back in Champaign.

Someone needs to get on their property manager bc he has yet to pay rent for all the space he's been taking up in many of our heads.

Even without the video posting, Morez and company did not think Tomi deserved to get paid more than him and Z is effectively our Morez replacement.

I think everyone remaining perfectly quiet (or reading the DI) would be more likely to get into his head than booing is. Some guys get fired up by an opposing crowd booing.
Also, did Morez actually say something bad about us? Him going to another program (even Michigan) doesn't make me hate him. Ya know, pity rather than scorn.

Hoping for a Big Ben night. Like 7 three pointers. He plays great regardless, but I'd like to see some shots go in for him.

Reminder: Ben and Jake Davis have combined for 8 turnovers all season.
Yeah it would be fun to see Ben get on a heater. Every time he lets one go I think it's going in, such perfect form. And the crowd would absolutely blow the lid off if he does get on one

Northwestern hasn't lost a game by 20+ this season. Their worst loss so far is a 19 point affair at Nebraska.
Chris Collins is a really good coach. He's not going to put up with any BS. His guys are going to play hard or they aren't going to play. IMO, he's wasting his time and his talent in Evanston.

We tend to play to the level of the competition. I don't expect a blowout win but a win nevertheless.

Will be interesting to see how Collins plays this one. Seems like he’s sort of thrown in the towel on this year and is playing his younger guys alot. But I think both Reid and Page are tough matchups for us, particularly Reid who bothered Keaton as much as I think he’s been bothered this year and took his ball a couple of times. Does Collins stay in rebuild mode or does he reinsert his vets and go for the win against the in state rival?

Last game was uncomfortably close. But there were a few goofy things that happened.

1. They are a bad 3 pt shooting team and don’t take a lot. They went 9-25 for 36% against us, by my count their second highest total of the season behind only a 12-22 eruption against Penn State who is just a mess right now.
2. We are one of the best rebounding teams in the country but only finished +3.
3. In spite of 1&2, we had the game pretty well in hand, up 15 in the last 10 minutes. But Northwestern went on a 10-0 run in a minute plus aided by a questionable hook and hold call and a T on O.

Despite all of the above, we were able to win by 11 and snap a 3 game skid in Evanston. This may be a big Martinelli game without Kylan. But if we play our game and rebound like we should I don’t think they can score enough to beat us. Hopefully no goofy stuff happens and we win comfortably.

Like to us hit shots early in the first half to put them away. Last couple of wins we didn't start fast. Hope the MSU game finishes on time. Hope Mn wins.

David plays 4 replacing Morez . Z is Tomas backup.
12 ppg 8 rbg 2 apg. 28 mpg.
shooting 36% from 3 and can bring the ball up the court. Great fit for 2026 Illini.

No idea of Morez makes jump to 14 ppg 7 rbg. Greatly improved FT shooting :)
Still only playing 24 mpg.
I do know he was not good ball handler or passer here and did not have many post moves.

In past losing somebody like Morez would have crippled team for several years. We heard forever if only Jerome Richmond had stayed. If only Jamar Smith had not injured his ankle then left Brian Carlwell to almost die after car accident. Brad replaced Morez and we are ranked #5 in nation!!!!!

We lost two starters and NBA first round draft picks and are better than last year. Brad is earning his mega-paycheck. I am glad Jay was smart enough to lock him up. I guarantee people would have been coming after him after this season. He has really adjusted to portal and $nil.

Possible open jobs in next 2 years- Kentucky, Kansas, Arizona State, North Carolina

Ben is shooting 33% from 3 this season, good enough for 6th on a very strong 3-point shooting team.......which is shooting 35% overall as a team.
NOTE: 33% from three equates to 50% on 2-point shots.

44% for Wagler (stellar! NBA-level talent)
42% for Jake (excellent; don't hesitate Jake)
36% for Mirk (really strong; keep chucking Dahvid)
35% for Tomi (really good)
34% for BigZ (very good)
33% for Ben (keep shooting when you're open, Hum)

Edit: add in Mirk being under the weather and not starting.

Vegas predicts the Illini by a score of 83-68.

Sounds good to me.

Well then, according to the very real and legitimate Transitive Property of Basketball, we should beat them by 28 tonight.
