This is a game where we win going away, but I want them to pulverize them on defense.
I think you're wishing for pulverizing defense prematurely. We'll need to be patient with that. What I hope to see is consistent boxing out and rebounding on the defensive end. That's simply basic, driven by consistent effort.

Fun fact, through 2 games, the Illini defense has a better adjusted rating (17th) than their offense (36th).
Which rating system is that? Kenpom has offense 15 and defence 40? Torvik? His rating seems off. Unadjusted ratings are off 12, def 40.

What game are we hanging Gholke’s banner?
I have shamefully perpetuated the misspelling of our fair prince’s name. So will start with a small token of respect - GOHLKE.
There will be a footnote under KJ’s rafter-hung jersey that reads “(Gohlke, who was clamped by TSJ, drove Cal to Fayetteville, a place so objectionable that his top assistant returned home to CU, bringing me and Tomi with.)”

Thank goodness first 2 games our opponents didn't shoot 70%, like Ole Miss. What concerns me both opponents have had open looks a plenty. Simply, didn't shoot it well. We need to really guard well to reach our ceiling.

That performance lead to us having the team we have today. Kentucky lost, fans got restless, Calipari moved on, Antigua came back, and here we are!

Thank you, Mr. Gholke!
So does someone have a fruit basket or a set of steak knives ready as a gift when Gohlke arrives? Probably the least we could do for him. :ROFLMAO:

Got curious and looked at the Oakland v Boise State boxscore. Someone named DQ Cole shot 1-15 from three all by himself for Oakland. I don't think I've seen anything like that before.

I respect the confidence. Gotta shoot your way out of a slump.

Skyy Clark went 0-10 (including 7 missed 3-pointers) against Syracuse for us. At LSU, Adam Miller went 0-10 with 8 missed 3 pointers against NCCU.

Those are the closest in terms of suck I can find. (Those two are my go-to players for suck performances.)

I agree with this. There are a couple of guys that are going to get taken advantage of on the defensive end, most notably Riley. He's getting pushed around a little bit, especially on the glass, which shouldn't be a surprise given his age and current frame(insert Adam).

That side of the floor is going to be a work in program and the main source of BU's frustration. I heard him a few times with a "get on the floor!" and a "box out!".....followed by a substitution.

So, you're saying he would have been due to go off vs. us this year? Lol, I can't argue. Illini fans are so conditioned!

I-L-L
Not saying that at all. Gholke's game didn't stand out to me when he played against Illinois. I was more concerned about Trey Townsend (currently at Arizona) going into that game, because I knew the kid was a load, and he played very well. They played hard up until the last five minutes of the game, before running out of gas.

I know Oakland is not as storng as last year, yet Greg Kampe is a good coach. Just have to keep an eye on Tuburu Naivalurua (11.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg), DQ Cole (11 ppg) and Allen Mukeba (10 ppg, 4 rpg).

Lastly, I'll add that Greg Kampe is a rare breed of a coach. To stay at one school for 40 years...incredible.

If at first you don't succeed, try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try again?
