We’re trying. LBs have struggled getting home when called and our DL has had issues generating push or winning 1 on 1 battles and that’s with a higher blitz rate than average. I thought we had our best defensive outing last week in that regard but still, we’re only sitting on 5 sacks through 6 games this season, so we can certainly try to get more exotic and aggressive but if we don’t get there WRs are going to be running free through our secondary.

For what it’s worth though, I think our run blitzing has actually been pretty decent overall and I think that’s why we’ve made dramatic improvement against the run since early season.
Send 10.

If Houser was healthy, I would be fully in on predicting an upset. We've been rightly upset with how disappointing the Illinois' defense has been this year, but Oregon's offense is somehow even more disappointing:

Oregon's defense is starting to find their footing, and they'll be facing a true freshman making their first start. Lunney has his chance to stake his claim to being one of the elite offensive play callers if Illinois can pull off the upset.

Updated Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch for the Oregon game.

This game was in sellout territory but tickets have understandably moved slowly the last few weeks and never got the momentum needed to officially sell it out. My official attendance guess: 58,400

"Oregon's offense is somehow even more disappointing:" Raiola is the worst QB in the B1G. He crapped out at Nebraska. His accuracy is so-so. His decision making is worse.

He is 0-1 against Illinois. Now most of the ducks other players are superior to ours, but I still see a chance to steal one here IMO........
