If you told me Illinois would finish 24-7 (15-5) before the season, I'd have gladly accepted it. That's in some ways a defeatist attitude, but I also cannot deny it as a fact. Now, just make sure it happens. No slip-ups.

Also, I believe Illinois has it in them to win 3 or 4 games in the BTT. 27-7 or 28-7 going into the tournament would be a darned good year. I still think this team has something left to prove. Not that I expect them to win the BTT, but they certainly can.

We need to win out to secure a triple bye. We cannot afford to lose to either Oregon or Maryland. Hopefully we will get some rest as we are fatigued. It showed last night. Wagler is getting overwhelmed as he is trying too hard to get his shots. Teams have now figured out how to play us defensively.

While true, there's no gimmes, we also have not lost to a team worse than UCLA in the B1G so far.

UCLA has an 11-6 conference record and was a Q1 loss. Oregon is 4-13 and would be a Q3 loss. We really should not lose this game.
Too much analytics. That's the problem. Develop dependable out-of-bounds plays.

I had another dream. The guys were huddled in practice. I walked up and told them they're my heroes and I still believe in them.

Then I wrestled with Brad Underwood. He won.

I mean, if you lose this game at home....just turn out the lights on your way out.

We should all realize, especially after UCLA, there are no gimmes. Better be ready to play.

My fear is that the last two games have exposed enough weaknesses and sufficiently damaged the players confidence that it's going to carry over. The vibes seem "off". I think the key will be Mirk. Watching him flail and whine to the refs continually gives me pause, He needs to come out with his head on straight and be ready to go.
"have exposed enough weaknesses and sufficiently damaged the players confidence" Do you mind elaborating?

For a team that prides itself on offensive analytics, you would think that our lowest percentage shooters from deep should not be jacking up miss after miss from 3. Let's get refocused, play with some discipline, return to rebounding aggressively with both hands, and stop dribbling into traffic in the lane hoping it doesn't end in a stupid turnover or poor shot. Sure, Michigan is a better team and beat us soundly, but we didn't help ourselves in that game, and positively threw away chances to win against UCLA and MSU teams that have overall less talent than the Illini. Time to start peaking instead of sliding.

A small thing but it’s not: Andrej needs to keep his head UP when he drives so he can see the court. If the drive is cut off by 3 guys, make this little thing called a pass.
That's a constructive comment. The other views stated that he is horrible are wrong. He gets past his defender almost always but is not recognizing the collapsing defense. If he passes we will get wide open threes and then they stop collapsing the defense and he will get layups.

Obviously we need to win both games next week. It’s freaking March! Play with a sense of urgency and some intensity, fire, passion, emotion, etc…
This is what I was saying at the Michigan game. We let that Michigan team man-handle us. We cannot have that. Shove back. Shove back hard. THEY CAME INTO OUR HOUSE and pushed us around. THAT should never happen in the House of 'paign.

I watched the look on players faces when we got dunked on, or gave up an O-board. Those faces were faces that were scared and dejected. We need a Kenny Battle type to push back and stand ground.

One aspect we need to get back to is sharing the basketball. We have been an excellent passing, unselfish team all season. The last two games the ball is really sticking.
Kylan's addition back to the team has A LOT to do with this and it's not the first time we've had this problem. The offense flowed better when it was Jake in the starting lineup and Kylan's 3 point shooting has been abysmal, not to mention he pulls up early in the possession.

It's Senior Night for Kylan and Ben. I can't imagine that either one would let the team lose on their Senior Night and I hope the rest of the team feels the same.

Do we know if anyone else will be walking on Senior Night?
Absolutely, those young men deserve a rousing sendoff victory. Kylan has been a huge part of our successes the last two seasons, and Ben has been greatly improved defensively and a key part of many victories this year. They both deserve a victory in their last home game, and have a heartfelt thanks from this Illini fan for finishing out their careers with the beloved.

Ben still has another year...
