I've said before (and I think others have too) that there is a causal relationship here, but I actually think it's the reverse of what you've outlined. When we're in an offensive funk (great band name btw) we lose focus and intensity on defense which allows other players to get hot. Ideally we would have the defensive intensity from the start and throughout. And the offense would feed off the defense. But I dont think that's how it has worked for us this year.I honestly think our OFFENSE getting off to a decent start will be extremely important to stopping Pickett, as well. It seems that way too often when an opposing player goes off on us, we are in a huge funk on offense, turn it over or throw up a brick quickly, have to rush back on defense again and seem to be discombobulated.
(Not saying your way is wrong or I'm right, just my read on the situation)
