Am assuming you going to keep going to work till after we win the Ncaa championship.
Have been dissapointed in this game the last several year. Painter is such a great in game coach. I hope that we get over the hump tonight but would not be surprised if we don't. If we win tonight and make a run in the tourney, I like our chances to make a run to the sweet sixteen or maybe even beyond.

I have two rather weird keys to this game:
1) Tomi plays at least 25 minutes; and,
2) Tre takes at least five foul shots.
I think the game gets a lot harder if Tomi has to sit with foul trouble. More so with Tomi than any other player.
Tre taking five foul shots means he is driving the basket and getting fouled, and that means "good Tre" is playing tonight. We are a much better team when Tre is on his game.

On Offense - we can't settle for threes, they will try to bait us into taking them - but we really need to attack the rim, Purdue is one of the worst defenses in the country down low. Feed Tomi in the post and attack Smith and Loyer off the dribble. Pound the offensive glass
On Defense - stay connected to Smith and Loyer, hedge all screens for them. Defend the three and let TKR, get his, just don't let anyone else get open looks

Dare I say it but how many times will Loyer flop/ fall down/ and throw himself to the ground in tonight’s game??? Just maddening that HE gets the call way too often AND he should be getting the flop warnings and technicals but doesn’t. Lord, please tell the refs to be cognizant of “the flopper” and call the fouls rightly, amen!”

Purdue is a three man team - Graber Smith and Fletcher Whiner from three and TKO throwing shoulders and elbows to get open underneath. Size bothers all three of them, so naturally I expect Heide, Cox or Colvin to score 24 tonight while going 8/9 from three (see John Hart in 2010 - who wasn't even in the scorebook).
I am tired of losing to my kids' school. So much depends on the officiating against these floppers, but please find a way tonight. Go Illini.

Can we wear the orange Flyin' Illini uniforms at home even ONCE this year, please?!?! We haven't done it at all this season (as if they think it's like not allowed, lol), but we used to do it all the time!!
Like, it's an alternate uniform ... we can wear it at home!! (Not that we seem to care about that, because we just randomly wear white on the road now I guess...?) Plus, it would contrast well with Purdue's black.

Seriously, there is not a bigger flopper in the Big Ten right now than Fletcher Loyer. I don't necessarily blame him because his main talent is hitting wide-open threes, so he's gotta try to help his team in other ways too...
He'll bring the flailing arms. He'll set a screen and then fall over if you bump him too hard. What is most aggravating is when he'll be cutting on offense and will just unexpectedly stop on a dime and hope the trailing defender runs into him.
What I would love to see is Painter having to pull him again because his defense was so bad (against Damask in that game).

I had all but given up on this team and coaching staff after the Duke beatdown. The two game winning streak has me feeling positive about the adjustments made and the team's effort. Win tonight and I'm back on the we're a decent team that can beat many in the tournament train. Let's end this Purdue winning streak and on to the BTT tournament with some steam behind us. I-L-L-I-N-I !

(2) Seriously, though, he was a complete stud (going from walk-on to BT Player of the Year) and an absolute thorn in our side.
