We should really lower the quality of the school so that alums don’t get good jobs anymore and ruin the vibe
I'm not criticizing them, merely comparing noise levels. I have never been in a SFC or Memorial Stadium box, but I have in United Center and Soldier Field. Fantastic way to watch the game with friends or colleagues but not at all conducive to a lot of yelling and screaming.

$12??? For two hours at a bar??? I’ll bet the servers are thrilled to see you coming.
Yes my wife wanted to get out of the house on game day and watch from a bar during football season.
The bill from various bars for the first month was in excess of $600 :) :)

I laughed.

But (and I know you're being a little facetious) the issue isn't that we have alumni who can afford nice things. It's that we've catered to them a little too much and it's come at the expense of our gameday atmosphere. Is what it is. It's a choice that was made 10 years ago under different leadership and we can't change it now. Probably better for revenue which pays dividends in other areas.. just not homecourt advantage.

I'd also be interested in seeing the premium seating breakdown between corporate sponsors and individual alumni.

He just looks slow because he is never rushed or sped up. When coaches say the game is slow for a certain player this is partially what they mean.
To me Marcus is a perfect example, when it comes to three point shooting, of making sure his teammates give him a good pass in his "pocket". The game is never sped up for him but long distance shots need to be good, crisp, pocket passes!! I have not played since the 80s, but my guess that is still preached today and maybe even more so.

Getting the Orange Crush down in A section is big improvement. They used to be limited to just behind basket on 1 end so there were a lot less of them.

A section used to be a lot of senior citizens who just sat there and rarely cheered. They were not even big donors. Just fans who bought their season tickets in the 1960's when the assembly hall opened. They even complained when other fans stood up and cheered as they were blocking their view.

I started attending games in the 1970's and the fans were dying for something to cheer for. The assembly hall was rocking when we Eddie hit the corner jumper to beat #1 MSU (Magic Johnson). That started a run of good Illinois teams and sellouts that included Bruce Douglas B10 champs elite 8, 1989 Flying Illini, 2005 Dee and Dero.

Does anyone know if a replay of this game will be available on peacock?
I was able to access it about 1.5 hours after the game ended. I wish they had a "watch from start" option while it's in progress.

Tonight's the night all the hard work and dedication these young men have put into our program will be on full display. The up's, the downs, all the aches and pains they worked through just to reach this moment....a moment we get to share with them. The moment they realize they are and will always be FamILLy!!! I'm going with jitters/nerves early, from the emotions, but it wont be long before this becomes what we have all been waiting for...A dominant performance in so many ways. Run them till they can't run anymore........ 97 Illinois 84 Purdue

Agree, I think this is one of the main factors. There could also be some social factors at play. Higher prices might attract more of a "white collar" crowd that isn't as loud.
I'm on Medicare and a lot louder than younger fans around me, but then I am Loyalty guy so..... There a reasonable chance that meet my end from a stroke or heart attack at a basketball or football game.

If we just don't get behind 20-4 before the first media timeout... I like our chances.
Edit that; even if we do get behind 20-4 before the first media timeout... I still like our chances.

PSA - you can rewind Peacock during live action. It helps to put the game into your "Favorites" beforehand, because you might accidentally catch the score on your home screen immediately upon opening Peacock. And because there is no "watch from start" button once selecting a game, you have to open it with tv muted, close your eyes, and hit the rewind button.
Caution: While watching on a delay, if you should close the app before you are caught up, the game will revert to live upon re-opening the app.

We have never beaten Zack. A win would be great. A home court blowout of the #2 team in nation would be legendary.

My biggest Illini wins

-1979 beat #1 MSU and Magic Johnson
-1989 came back to win Braggin Rights vs top 10 Missouri team
-1989 Nick Anderson hits half court shot to beat Indiana at Bloomington
- 2005 Elite 8 10 point comeback to beat AZ in elite 8

You should be able to watch any part of the game while the game is live as well.

Yeah, last game I started watching from the beginning about an hour after the game started but when the game ended, the feed died and I had to wait until the replay was available to finish watching. With YTTV there's no waiting for a reply to be available.

It will be interesting to see how Purdue matches up if we sub Harmon for Ty - who does Edey guard in that scenario - I would imagine Guerrier but there is not good matchup for him. This game will come down to us outscoring them so making Edey guard someone on the perimeter is our best shot at getting some easy offense

PSA #2 - this is a foul, you simple-brained Boiler fans. You cannot stand behind a player and put your arm over their shoulder while driving your tricep into their head. Imagine if someone Luke's height attempted this. Even Bardo would say "young man, what are you doing?"

Harmon will start so we will find out real quick
