it wont be easy, tied in the 4th quarter but we will probably squeek out a win on a last second field goal. (we have a good kicker!) 24-21

Should you feel just a little sorry for Rutgers?

Rutgers is 13th in the Big Ten in total offense and scoring offense. (Illinois is 14th.) Interesting fact: Saquon Barkley (Penn State) and Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin), who rank first and third, respectively, in all-purpose yards in the conference, were former verbal commits to Rutgers.

I think we'll win big. Don't let it fool you into thinking we've turned the corner, we'll still get rolled a few more times before the season is over.

First game since Ball State that Illinois will feel pressure (favorite) to win. Really need a win this weekend to keep the upswing story alive on the recruiting trail.

I sure wish they'd do this combo with our helmet in regular Illini orange to match the fabric. The metallic always seems to have a burnt orange look to it that just seems 'off'.

Hot take: the helmets are the only reason we wont make the playoffs this year.

(P.S.--I hate them with a burning passion)

Where did I see that Illinois was favored to win by 2.5 points and that Crouch would throw two-point-something interceptions?

My intuition is that George has a relatively clean game (only one pick, and it's a deflection), and we win. It's almost a comfortable win, but there is some coaching call that I hate that makes the result closer than it should be.

Give it up you old school curmudgeon. The burnt orange looks great.

You're not alone in your view and I'm probably older than you but with all things uniform, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the burnt orange look. I hate all orange, like white pants at home and all whites on the road. My preference.

Hey we're a unanimous pick this week on espn - to lose to Rutgers.

I'm with Zuppke here. Remember those slant Illinois helmets? Hated those things. I like the metallics. It took them a couple decades of goofing around to figure out the block I is our symbol. Go figure. I like a classic look to the uni's and a helmet with some flash, but to be honest they could wear blue and orange tutu's if it helps them win consistently and I could get behind it. :D

I guess if you saw only saw the Iowa score, and didn't watch the game (which is what all the pundits did), you'd think we were trending in the wrong direction.

I'm an old school/traditionalist, I don't mind the helmets. Font for numerals bugs me though. Now get off my lawn.

PS From 1964, 3 different shades of orange.

Expecting a crowd of 35k. Wish they would have a way of filling the stands. For the player sake if nothing else. Free tix first come first serve?

Hopefully these young guys continue to grow, learn from mistakes and stay healthy.

Go cubs!
