I dig the Pig. It’s got that off the coast of Ireland/Scotland patrons could launch into a unison sea shanty at any moment-vibe.I only get to CU once or twice a year for a game, but if you have not been in a decade, I STRONGLY recommend spending some time Downtown ... it has changed a ton since my first time being in that area (circa 2015), and I have heard it is straight-up unrecognizable from pre-2014. While there are a ton of cool spots, these are the two that we hit every single time we are in Champaign:
1. If you want a nicer dinner, Nando Milano in Downtown Champaign is tough to beat. Excellent atmosphere right next to that area of Downtown that is cut off to traffic and is like one giant patio. The food, of course, is also phenomenal.
2. For a casual beer, Blind Pig Brewery is our go-to and always will be. Note that there is another Blind Pig location that is also cool, but the one in Neil Street is the coolest, IMO ... it has a back area that leads into one of the best beer gardens I have ever frequented!
I figured others would give great Campustown locations, so I figured this is the best thing I could offer!
They are getting their all American leader back….they will respond just fineSo assuming TSJ is playing. BU has a tough job. It seemed like the team was unifying without TSJ. Players stepped up to fill the void. How do the players respond when they get a smaller role. Goode goes back to the bench and Harmon gets a little less time.
Cannot assume we win. Still need to prepare and be ready to play
We've used just a 6 man rotation lately. Kids like to play, but man I gotta think they will be plenty happy with a little less PT except for Dain, Nico, and the freshmen. So assuming TSJ is playing. The silver lining in all this is that several players took big leaps forward in TSJs absence… most notably Coleman, Quincy, Domask and Harmon. That’s gonna go a long way towards future success. They are getting their all American leader back….they will respond just fine

Most teams will not be able to. Thats why i feel we are a top 5 team in the country with TJ.How the heck will teams manage Domask now? Sure would be really stupid to double with TSJ on the court. I really am excited to see what this offense can do with everyone now leaning into their strengths. We can also get the defense back on track as that has dipped significantly without our best perimeter defender.
Taking my wife to the Rutgers game and heading up to CU tomorrow. It’s been perhaps a decade since I’ve been to CU and that was mostly business related.
Any suggestions for bars Saturday night with perhaps some live music? Restaurant suggestions? I scoured trip advisor and my how things have changed since I moved away in 95.
Looking forward to this 60 year old once again looking like a 25 year old rabid, die hard, crazed Illini fan for a couple hours on Sunday. I’m sure she’ll be so proud. Yikes.
Suggestions from my brethren much appreciated in advance.
I L L . . .
+ he hung 23/10 on them in the RAC.If Terrance is allowed to play in this game, which I presume he will, I can't think of a better game to bring him back into. Lowest stress game left on the schedule I might suggest and it's a home game.
They're not terrible on O. After we curbed-stomped them off the opening tip 14-2, they nearly tied it late in the half. But, yeah: they couldn't hang with us at the RAC in December. Unlikely they will at the AH on Sunday.I like this matchup. They're so bad on offense. They don't have dynamic guards like Young. Honestly can probably play a C game and win. hoping we get a decent cushion to spell some dudes. I could see a game where the bench gets some tick and its not total blowout.
I mean they are the 243 ranked kenpom offense which is almost surely bottom 3 for a power 5.+ he hung 23/10 on them in the RAC.

Oh, jeez. Stop it. They'll be prepared and ready to play, just with their All-American guard. So assuming TSJ is playing. BU has a tough job. It seemed like the team was unifying without TSJ. You're right: worst in the BT. I was going by what I saw at the RAC in December.I mean they are the 243 ranked kenpom offense which is almost surely bottom 3 for a power 5.
High level GIF game…. Russ is wearing an Illini sweater in this scene
We better never coast. Unless we're up 40 with 5 min leftWe start up 20-4, and then coast for 30 minutes. Thats my hope.
They don't have a little speedy guard to torch us, so I also think we win handily. We could also just play exactly like we did at their place (which was excellent) and win by 30+ this time.
This x10000 - When TSJ news first broke I thought that if he comes back this now really looks like a F4 team that has 7 guys ready to step up in big momentsThe silver lining in all this is that several players took big leaps forward in TSJs absence… most notably Coleman, Quincy, Domask and Harmon. And because Mrs. Battle89 bought her husband tickets to this for Christmas. Maybe she's the real insider! If Terrance is allowed to play in this game, which I presume he will, I can't think of a better game to bring him back into.
