The Tupper tweet is another example of the staff aggressively managing early season expectations. They’re also selectively showcasing the grim reality of wholesale culture and system change.

It’s interesting seeing hard questions being asked of players before a real game has even been played. It seems to me that the (usually reserved) staff has a calculated plan to leverage these internal growing pains in a public manner to help accelerate buy-in and effort.

Definitely a 180 degree reversal of what we have seen in previous seasons where the problems have been swept under the rug. I hope the guys respond to being put on the spot.

We don't need them to be ready at all this year for 'serious' minutes, just 5-10 minutes a game. If between the 2 of them we can get 15 to 20 a game between the non-existent 4-5 spots, I think we'll be just fine. :)

Legends, Murphy's, or Firehaus are good spots if you want to stay on campus, and they'll keep you away from the students beginning their weekends at happy hour. Guidos is a good spot if you want to head downtown.

Yes.

Also, I second Guidos on gamedays. Huge place so you can get seated quickly, atmosphere, and food are great. Black Dog can get busy, even with two locations now and if you feel like moderately cheap but still good food other than pizza, Guidos is good.

Have fun at the game for those attending. For those not, if you bought a BTNPlus subscription for the month (or whatever length), they do have the "Classic" games available. One is the Illinois vs Indiana 2013 game if you are so inclined to get the juices flowing prior to the game. It does come with a "Please be advised this is a JG offense" warning however.

Should a memorable game for lots of reasons...not the least of which being our second child is due to arrive roughly around the start of the 2nd half. :)
