It'll be my son's first time attending an Illini game at SFC, so we will be there early and we will be loud. 3rd row seats baby!
Back in the day when most B1G teams did not have a player over 6'8', 3rd row was a pretty good seat. But with the Ivisic bros and JJ in front of you, I am just hoping you can see some of the game. Enjoy. My first game was at the Assembly Hall in 1963 but it is a better facility now and still a very special venue to watch the Fighting Illini.

That '63 team was special. Downey, Small and Burwell. Won the B1G title and thus received a berth in the NCAA tournament. If I remember correctly, they were ousted by a Loyola team featuring Jerry Harkness. Loyola ended up winning the whole thing. Very fond memories indeed. I forget lots of our players from 3-4 yrs. ago, but I'm starting to think my long term memory is working. I can remember the '53 team as well.

we need to talk more about All-American guard Paul Judson and the 1953 team. It was Judson's sr. year and he averaged about 18-19 ppg. Drafted in 2nd round, #13. What I find astonishing is the fact the fabulous Elgin Baylor wasn't taken until the 14th round (#91). The NBA GMs must have had the radar turned off.

After the remodeling, IMO the SFC is the best arena for college basketball anywhere. In the first place, it's a unique architectural gem. Always has been. In the second place, the ideal seating inside is beautifully arranged for all groups in attendance. I haven't seen a better facility anywhere,

KenPom today: Michigan #1, Purdue #5, Illini #9, and Southern #226.

One of these teams doesn't belong...

Not to say every game is a win, but the next four BT games plus Southern are all very winnable. Which would make us 4-1 going into the middle of Jan. Keaton show the world why you will be first team all Big Ten and probably an All American.

I don't know what to make of Iowa. Northwestern, on paper, we should win, but we've said that the past few years and keep losing there.

*Best freshman to ever come through our program*
I will take credit where it's due...I was the 1st to mention this. Once it comes to fruition, I'll gladly accept a Thin Mint cookie (y)
If not...I'll take my crow medium-rare 🄩

Like you said that before this time, or you just posted that?? Posting that on Dec 27 after this stretch Keaton has had is not exactly going out on a limb, IMO.

Cory Bradford, KJ, Kofi, and Keaton are probably the main contenders. Ayo, Giorgi are a group behind that, IMO. Kiwane and Deon are both way up there, but I didn't see them play, so I don't really know.

I figure ALL our upcoming games are "winnable." They're also "loseable." In conference, our single win was a true road game, while our loss was a home game. You can't let that happen at home. But there will be plenty of surprises, not just for us, but all the other teams as well.

He's now MISTER Ben Humrichous - has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
Predictions:
1) Ben goes for a 20-burger today.
2) Petro gets at least 15 mins
