His 47th season at the helm, IIRC. Apart from a few seasons in his early 20s playing semi-pro ball, he has spent his entire life since the age of 18 at Syracuse Univ, and he grew up nearby.

And his arm is bandaged. I'd forgotten about that.]My view of that play was from about 150 yards away near the top of the Metrodome, an awful place to watch a basketball game...but worth every second of it.
Three NBA players with long careers on that Syracuse team. Sherman Douglas, Derrick Colman and Billy Owens. We watched that game at a random bar somewhere in the middle of Nebraska or Iowa on our way back from skiing for spring break.
