Texas Tech really disjointed in the 1st half, they had like 4 turnovers in a row at one point and were down 6 points. Only won the boards 41-37.

Make no mistake, they have two future NBA players. Should be a hell of a game.

thanks for the insight. any idea is it's a bruise or ligament related? few weeks... Hopefully not MCL sprain

Why do our women's and men's basketball teams have so many injuries? Any connection there? I know Fletch is the Messiah to most of you, but sometimes you are allowed to ask questions, no? BTW, this is why I wrote a while ago about the stupidity of "to be the best, you have to play the best" non conference schedule. With our history of injuries, you're gonna run into trouble.

It just seems to me that when the Illini have great potential something always happens to throw a wrench into the wheel.
Ayo getting mugged, Tommy with Mono, TJ suspended for false abuse claim, This year, Petrovic getting cleared by NCAA and now injured, Stoj injured, Tommy injured, Tyler injured, Lee injured,! This Illini program in basketball and football seem to be snake bit!

Why do all these injuries keep happening in practice? Over conditioned? Practice too hard? It’s more than just bad luck.

Big game that should have legs when seeding is done. Wondering what the line will be. Kenpom expects us to be favored be several but his analytics would include Tomi. I'll guess 4 or 5.

It sounds like we may not be full strength for much of the non-conference season. That's our opportunity for March seeding games. Missing Tomi makes these big games much more challenging.

Really sucks that Tomi will be out for this one, along with Alabama and possibly even UConn game. Takes my level of excitement about these matchups from a 10/10 to 8/10.

Unless we win without him of course…that would be a 10/10 😉

I’m trying to refrain from the classic overreaction after drubbing two not so good teams… I think we are better than Texas tech at this point but Christian Anderson and JT Toppin will give us FITS and we will really have to learn where the improvements on defense need to be made

Agreed, curious to see what Crocker will cook up. Love what I’m seeing so far!

We are blessed to have Twin Ivisic. Im not convinced that either is a downgrade vs the other. What Z gives up in offensive playmaking vs T he gives back in post defense. Both are great 3p shooters. Both excellent rebounders. With Mirk, Bam, Wags, Stoy and Petro I feel we have triple threat offensive playmaking in abundance. Just saying I dont underestimate Z's presence in the paint, even considering the highlight reel T can be.

It's time now. Time they protect home court at all cost. No more dropping games like this at home. This is a huge game. It isnt a make or break, but definitely a game that can carry some weight and can be a spring board. This is team is deep and can beat you with a thousand cuts short handed and it starts Tuesday night.

It is difficult to have watched the first two games and not be excited for the season. And we should be excited. But nothing meaningful has happened. When a good team of equal physicality hits back in the nose then there will be lessons to be learned and character and skill developed. As reported by BU, that happened in Orlando. Let's hope lessons were learned and confidence built.

For sure, we should all say a prayer of thanks that Kylan Boswell is an Illini.

Couldn't agree more. He is tough as nails and really, a complete player. His leadership is quiet but rock solid.

Man, would I love to have Petrovic for this game. It appears that is likely, only limited minutes. That's fine for the time being.

Ok but that is the defending national champ on their home court. How many times out of 10 does any top 5 team win that game? Sure lessons were learned like any game but that's not really a counter to any kool-aid.

To me this is a house money game. I still don’t think it’s possible to know this team’s potential as the March line up could be totally different than what we see in this game.

Loose and continue to improve and learn. But win and let the “national title contender” talk begin
