So, will one assistant do the scout prep for Texas and another for Xavier, or how does that work?
The video guys and lower level will put together cut ups and a scouting report for both(likely already done before hand) staff will then dive into that and film of both. Plus the play in game. Will have scout ready for players for both teams and ready to go once play in game is over.

It would be nice to beat Kentucky and I think our guys are perfectly capable of doing just that. That would be a sweet win.

Hamer just gives off "I'm a clown" vibes.

Thoughts
Hamer: I can't gameplay for teams i know we're gonna play, how do I prepare for possibilities?

Tyler: Is mom cooking dinner, or should I get something here?

Here’s the list:

- Jerry Palm
I do not understand how Palm keeps his job. He has more 2 lines off than either Decourcy or Lunardi. Anyhow, I figured a solid 6 due to the SOS, NC games and huge road wins within the conference. Both Xavier’s and Texas are older and deeper, but like us, can be inconsistent. We just need to control the tempo, take care of the ball and play D like we did against Michigan. We have a good chance of a S16. We normally get screwed with matchups as playing Loyola, Houston and Arkansas, all under seeded in past tourneys.

That's as good of a draw as you could ask for
Good draw but can this team really be trusted in any game? I could see them rolling by 20 or losing by 20 in the first round. I just don't see the fight in this team. First game they get punched in the mouth they will fold again. Surprising for an Underwood (Pizza Hut Parking Lot) coached team. Revenge for the Tenn buzzer beater would be nice but I can't see this group being consistent enough to get that far.

The terrible part is this team can literally beat anyone in the whole bracket when they are on. Zero chance of them being on 6 consecutive games.

I am glad the Illini made the tourney, but I am very cautiously optimistic that they will go anywhere. We have seen this team at both ends of the spectrum. When they come ready to play, they can beat anyone, but we have also seen them lackadaisical in their efforts in some games and get obliterated.
I and some of the analysts have said this is one of Brad's worse defensive teams [ I don't even like to use the word defense with this team]. They rely on the 3 way too much. We have seen them take the ball to the basket recently with a lot of success with the kick out for a 3 in the flow of the game.
Overall, I think this team has some talent [although I disagree with the lottery pick for the 3 players] I see this team as physically and mentally unprepared. They have a tendency when they get punched in the mouth to go hide, get timid. Their ball handling skills and passing leave a lot to be desired leading to run outs by their opponent's. After being manhandled by Maryland in the BiG tourney I think they will get by the first game. If they play Kentucky who is very similar to the Illini [No defense] Kentucky can shoot and get up and down the floor. Will this game be another beat down? I don't think the Illini can manage to put wins back-to-back. I think 1 and done for this under achieving Illini team. Sad ending to a season with so much hype and promise!

Agree with everyone, a good seed #6, playing at a good site, Milwaukee and I also like the tip-off time. Time to settle in, eat, rest, hydrate, go over the game plan and come out ready to play.

That's my concern as well. I just don't see the grittiness to tough out a win when it will be needed - and it will be needed over the course of six games.

UConn was a once in a near-generation outlier. Most years, you'll see a team have at least one game where they shoot 35-42% from the field and grind out some sort of 58-54 win at some point in a six-game run to a national title. I don't think this team has that type of game in them. I hope I'm wrong, because if they do an Elite 8 or even a Final Four run is not completely out of the question.

Agreed 100% on both major points. Yes, we got an absolute gift of a draw. Yes, I'm very much afraid to get my hopes up only to have them violently thrown to the ground and stomped into oblivion as has happened with this team too many times this season.

If we didn't have a baby this morning we would have 100% been buying tickets immediately and going. Those tickets are probably not going to last very long.
Totally hypothetical, of course, but if you decide to go anyway, will the NCAA require a separate ticket for the youngest Illini fan?

This is the best possible draw for us! It's Final 4 or bust now.
All the big brain board members...
I have a great meme to respond to this, but it would get me put in timeout. So I'll use this one instead...
