We are sitting in middle of UAB. In orange. 🤣 Not a human on the planet freaks with my big retired Marine Corps State Department arse. Lmao 😂 😂. Looking forward to getting loud. With my Duke loving sister. I gave her a Perfectly fit Illini shirt and she's wearing it. Killing her, but oh well. Man Up Sis, 🤣 🤣

I had my knee replaced. I am moving around, okay, but walking for more than 15 minutes is still not in my playbook. Do we have any Assistance from parking and getting into the stadium? And out of the stadium, back to our vehicle. Are there any options for us. Old broken down people?
I've got the same problem; seems like so many places I can't go to any more.

I was, there were definitely people who said they were checking out after the Washington loss because it took us out of CFP contention. It may have been a relatively small portion of the fanbase but some were vocal and there was definitely discussion around that topic on this board.
Last year one of the student leaders said that students were leaving early for some of the games because Illini had taken themselves out of playoff contention

Very interesting how BB mentioned JW. Seems like he is very intentionally steering the programs away from the more controversial or questionable player eligibility decisions.

So they really don’t enjoy the game of football itself? Or the atmosphere and experience, especially in winning or competitive games with near sellout crowds. Stay home then. Let a real fan take your seat.

Sorry to sound so cynical, but such students aren’t helping the program. Hopefully there aren’t many of them.

Looks like it is going to be a warm evening. The sun will set and it should cool a little. Will we hit 50thousand for attendance? Go Illini.

Someone teleport them to any home game during the 2003-06 seasons please. That stretch gave Gary Moeller some company in our Hall of Shame.

Penn State '05 is my favorite, speaking of having a reason to leave at halftime.

Please allow me: "Kids today..."

The disabled parking by SFC is great and super convenient. I've used it on several occasions. You just gotta walk across the street.
I will be flying in for the Iowa game and have parking pass for lot 43. I have a disabled son and would need to take advantage of the golf cart assistance, will the shuttle make it out to that lot? I did not find any specific disabled parking options when purchasing the parking pass, so went with what was available. I was going to hold off until closer to that game to inquire, but since its a current topic, wanted to chime in. Going to be an awesome 2 weeks, catching the beloved head out here to the West Coast for the UCLA game and then a hopefully perfect Fall game in real Big Ten country. Youngest kid is so stoked.

We needed to utilize the shuttle for several games two years ago due to my son's injury. We went to the lot entrance and there was a sign of where to wait for the shuttle. The parking lot attendants would also help with and radio that we needed it if we were waiting. They drop off either by the West or East gates along Kirby. For after the game, you just have to cross to the median on Kirby (signs were there also), across from the East or West gates, and wait for the shuttle back to the lot from there.

Very helpful, thanks!

Whitman has done more for the athletic department, the university, its brand, and the community than damn near anyone else has in the same amount of time. Though I’m not a runner, if I was local, shoot, I’d show up to this! Just a cool good thing to do honestly. Night and day difference in the program and impact after he was hired. We are lucky to have him.

I've not heard of an Illini coach inviting an entire team to a game but he picked a great one to start with. Rochester totally embarrassed the #1 ranked 7A team in the first half last Friday. Best discipline I've seen from a high school team in a long time. There's not one or two outstanding prospects, just a whole team that plays well together.
Rochester's Coach Leonard, like his father before him, is a legend in the Springfield area.

I was at that Penn State game in 2005 in the student section. One of the few fans who stayed until the very end. For those who didn't see that game, we played our absolute hearts out and were down 56-3 at halftime. That was the talent gap. Paterno took pity on us at half and put in his 3rd stringers the rest of the way otherwise there's no question they would've scored over 100. That was an awful game as a fan to watch, and yet somehow it still doesn't compare to the Beckman years for me. To not support the Bielema teams these past few years is downright crazy to me. And agreed, students right now have no idea how good they have it

Sorry not football related, can this website go dark mode? If anyone knows please message me!

It's going to be very hot Thursday. Players will be sweltering in their uniforms and all that football gear. Both sides will probably use a lot of players.

The talent cliff that Ron Turner drove us over from '01 to '04 was staggering.
