Final Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch for UAB:

We're tracking to have about 4,000 less tickets sold than Week 1 last year (Saturday game). The Western Illinois game had paid attendance of just over 56k. I think we get up to about 52k. So that's my official attendance guess: 52,000

It was the easiest decision of my life to take Friday off going into Labor Day weekend and easily convinced enough others to do the same to fill out our group. I was hoping the excitement for the new board would convince more people to do the same.

Either way, ITS GAMEDAY! ILL!

his three big hires were really outside the box.

Lovie came out of nowhere. Obviously it didn't work, but it sent a message.

Getting Underwood after one year at another P5 is incredible. I'm sure it's happened, but not very often.

I'm not sure how many other ADs even go after Bielema. It's turned out brilliant.
In hindsight, Wisconsin might take him back.

Not to pick nits, but I'll pick a nit. The WIU game was on a Friday night last year. I remember getting delayed leaving Springfield due to a traffic accident on I-55 & barely getting to the game in time for kickoff. I was blown away at the crowd for a game against WIU. Had to park out by the Vet Hospital lot. Signs of a program on the uptick vs the old days. I remember a WIU game from like 2012 or so where we took our 5 family members and a couple of friends of my son's. Had like 7 people. Bought 10 tickets on stubhub for a total of like $20 just to have extra room since it was soooo cheap.

Strange that on ESPN, it says, “Tickets as low as $207.” Way higher than anyone else and double Clemson @ LSU! 😆 I’m guessing that’s a typo.
