The matchup game will be pretty interesting and whether Reed plays will be a factor.

UConn typically plays one of Reed or Reibe and then has Karaban at the 4 with some combination of Ball, Demary, Stewart and Ross at guard/wing.

I don't think Mirkovic has a chance at staying with Karaban on the perimeter. However I also think Mirkovic may be too big for Karaban on the inside offensively.

I actually think a lineup of Petrovic/Lee, Boswell, Wagler, and Stojakovic playing together with a big of your choice might be the way to matchup with UConn. Stojakovic is basically the same size as Karaban and plenty capable of chasing him around the perimeter.

You're right! My bad there! 92-81 is my prediction. That actually feels about right.

They break 90, we break 80 with the knowledge that we need to be hovering at 90 to be in position to steal one.
I think we were bad defensively against BAMA, and their total ended up 90 points. UCONN is not near as good offensively as BAMA... I suspect it could be closer to 80-85 than 90.

Most of the shows they mention were produced before these guys were even born! Kind of a sad commentary on the current state of television and movies, I guess.

I’m all for the content … But our guys better come into this game mentally freaking ready … Enough with this slow start BS … This ain’t UTRGV … This isn’t f’ing NYC fashion week … This isn’t shopping and sight seeing in NYC … This is a freaking business trip …

Get mentally ready to win … Compete … and Win …

Brad better have these boys ready … 1-3 against Tech, Bama, UConn, and Tennessee doesn’t cut it …

Hurley ain’t f’ing around and his guys will be mentally ready and HUNGRY …

Hopefully, our turkey day is on Saturday. If we win. If not, bologna and cheese.

If Reed and Mullins play I think this will be the toughest game of the season.
I don't like this match up right now. I would feel better about it in 3-4 weeks. I think Mullins and Reed probably play and it's a 10 point loss for the good guys. Have not posted since the Alabama game. Defense is somewhat better this year but nothing to write home about. Our offense still goes stagnant at times. When healthy and motivated, UCONN is final4 good. I don't know that we can say that. Our defense has to get better.

Absolutely on target.
Our team's performance re this stretch will color the season going forward I believe.
How much? Coaching will tell.

I'm a little nervous about the Dan Hurley post game interview after dissecting Illinois for a 20 point win...

He will shred Brad and Illinois for worrying about the pre-game fit over getting ready for a top 15 matchup.

"Don't know who they thought they were getting ready to face with that little photoshoot".

It's coming...We already know Dan was trashing our staff to recruits and anyone else who would listen 2 years ago.

Shoot, even the Armchair Illini podcast had a UCONN commentator who openly made fun of Brad as not being "the guy" for Illinois. Hard to imagine someone in the media being that openly disdainful of a coach whose team is in the top 15...

--Also, I kinda get it after watching the 30-0 run and the fateful "we are gonna keep attacking Donovan Clingan" line--

I don't disagree. But, Underwood is obviously approaching this game differently than Hurley. To me, he looks like he has taken the opportunity to make a high pressure game fun and relate to his team. We have all seen Underwood in his players' faces and they know he means business. I think he's having fun with his team and keeping them loose, knowing full well that his players know full well the beatdown Illinois suffered from UConn in the recent past. I seriously doubt he has detracted at all from the importance of this game and this stretch.

As for Dan Hurley, douche's gonna douche.

After the loss to Arizona, Hurley ripped up the stat sheet and said it will wake him up at night like a nightmare.

After the loss to Alabama, Underwood said he appreciated playing in a big stadium in front of a lot of fans and the program's back. After we lost.

One has won two national championships. One made the Elite Eight once. A lot of media people said the fashion show should've happened before a buy game because normally you can only have this much fun before a game when you're sure you'll win or you're sure you'll lose. And a game against UConn isn't one you're sure you'll win so where does that leave us?
