I bet those 37 in a row were all catch and shoot 3's from the three point line. And not off the dribble 3's from five feet beyond. I'm not on the DGL bandwagon yet, and worry that we're in danger of him developing a bad habit of taking low-percentage 3's.
I'll bet that you are right. Obviously we need to get him some opportunities for some catch and shoot 3s in a game, because 37 is a lot!I bet those 37 in a row were all catch and shoot 3's from the three point line. I don't like low-percentage 3s. I like high-percentage 3s much better.I bet those 37 in a row were all catch and shoot 3's from the three point line. Runs like that are so fun.
That's crazy even if it is practice. That was my high for free throws in a row in practice. I once made 12 threes in a row just messing around and thought that was pretty good, apparently not. If DGL can bring some of that to the games on a regular basis it will be hard to keep him off the floor.
Lol. If DGL makes 37 in a row in a game, I'll be donating for a statue of him (right next to Paddock's) no matter where he took the 37 shots from. But his chances of doing that are gonna be a lot better if he doesn't get into a mindset of thinking he can and should take them from anywhere.I don't like low-percentage 3s. These are Illini fans, after all. I saw many comments on posts about Whitman's extensions about how he should be fired because football hasn't won any Big Ten championships, the Lovie Smith hire, and that Underwood hasn't made any deep tournament runs. A lot have the mindset of "If we don't win every game then everyone sucks and should be fired!" Quite the aggravating fanbase to be a part of.We got beat by 7 points by the #4 team in the country. This issue with this response is you are expecting fans on Loyalty to actually listen to what's being reported and do a little bit of research instead of just jumping to their own conclusions on what is going on. A lot of folks here like to have their own "alternative facts."Where are you reading Dain is too tired? That sounds like a made up reason. The real reason he's not playing is he doesn't follow the scouting report and makes dumb decisions sometimes. Could he be a valuable contributor to the team? You bet but not if he is going to freelance and not do what the coaches are asking him to do.
I'd love to see a cupcake game where TSJ took nothing but "mid-range" shots. There has been a lot of talk about him being a 3 level scorer, but virtually everything so far has been either a 3 or a head down freight train to the rim, much like last year. He justifiably draws so much attention that if he got into the paint under control it's likely there would be open perimeter shooters due to defense dropping off to help. Otherwise, he's such a skilled athlete that he could score on a variety of shots in the paint, much like Kolek did to us on Tuesday.Would love to see us have TSJ take a back seat during these easy games, and give DGL and Ty more usage. They need the reps, plus TSJ doesn't need to be flying down the lane putting his body at stake in these types of games. Scares me every time he puts his head down and goes full steam downhill.
This is a fan forum and so we are all entitled to our own opinions. My opinion and response to you is Rodgers hasn't done anything in this very very young season to warrant these types of conclusions. PG is not his natural position, although he did play some in high school, but in the early goings (including exhibitions) the offense has run best with him at the 1. Someone mentioned how few assists he has on the season, so far, but he has made some great passes and on many occasions, the recipients just haven't been able to put the ball in the hoop.Need to bring Rodgers off the bench to backup at the 4. He is not a lead guard.
Start DGL and bite the bullet on his learning on the job. Or start Goode and have Domask and TSJ run the offense and bring DGL as first guard off the bench and give him more minutes.
We have a chance to get some rhythm on offense before we get into league play and tougher games.
Our half court offense is simply not every good right now.
To be fair, BU said in the Oakland post-game presser (I think) that he had had to take Dain out of that game because he was tired. This issue with this response is you are expecting fans on Loyalty to actually listen to what's being reported and do a little bit of research instead of just jumping to their own conclusions on what is going on. That is true for the Oakland game. But, posters have been going on and on about Dain's minutes in the Marquette game (and overall). It has been reported that Dain is having issues with following the scouting reports, thus, negatively impacting his minutes so far this year.To be fair, BU said in the Oakland post-game presser (I think) that he had had to take Dain out of that game because he was tired.

I once made 27 3's in a row, rebounding for myself, moving around the 5 spots on the arc.
It was wildly euphoric.

I went 7 consecutive slow pitch softball games without making an out as the lead-off batter. It was a lot of hits.Got any other fun facts about your athletic achievements?

Can’t disagree that our half court offense needs help, but moving yet one more player (Ty) out of position to compensate for our lack of a true PG may make things worse. I think we have to cobble together a Frankenstein PG with CH and TSJ and the benchno…just no….
