Haha, reminds me of sitting next to Kevin Duckworth at EIU. Rip , was a massive human being with a very shy personality. Wonderful and humble man. Loved to fish.

Pushing out something new: the Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch with updates for the entire 2025 slate of home games.

About this new view:
I am no longer tracking ticket availability by section and have instead found a semi-automated way to scrape a count of available tickets, plus an estimated count of unsold tickets that have not yet been made available. My thought is that since a handful of games this season may sell out, if I want to do any meaningful tracking and projection, I need to track all the games now - waiting for the week before the game won't be as exciting. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback on this new view.

Update on Western Illinois:
The tracker currently shows an estimated 52,620 tickets sold. Only about 100 tickets per day have been selling as far as I can tell.

I should also note that the ticket site data I'm pulling has some question marks around it.

1. Don't ask me why there are 123 tickets available for the Ohio State game. But that's what it shows. See below:

2. According to this data behind the scenes, Memorial Stadium also has a total capacity of 67,314....not sure what that's about.

I think for my purposes the "AVAILABLE" count in the screen shot above is accurate enough. I did a manual count of green dots for the WIU game and it was off by 131 from the 2573 shown above.

Feagin and Elzy. We know they're talented. Would love to see them reach that potential this year. Bless them for their loyalty to Illinois.

I wonder if the difference in capacity comes from those seats directly behind the player benches which are typically covered by tarps on game days because the view of the field is obstructed by the players.

I already considered that actually. There are exactly 1,500 seats tarped off typically - 750 on each side. I actually believe those seats are included in the 60,670 number...

Attended around the same time. Jackson Street Pub has the best horseshoe! Happy to hear they are still around. Haven't been back to that part of the state in 25 years. Macomb is the crossroads to nowhere.
I met my still wife at WIU. I am from the Quincy area & had never heard of the glorious thing called a horseshoe until she took me there for dinner one night. She is from Springfield & knew all about the horseshoe. I knew that night she was the one!

That elite eight overtime comeback win in Chicago will always be one of the most memorable games in Illini history.

Just saw that photo of the 6 team captains. Man, Jacas is a chiseled specimen! If he's not playing in the NFL before long, I'd sure like to know why. So is that tight end (forgot his name already).

That would be a massively disappointing season

#75
Our fan base expectations might be slightly too high. Many expect a sure-fire 9-10 win season, but no computer model sees that.

Vegas O/U is at 7.5.
This model, whatever it is, predicts 7-5.
KFord predicts 7-5.
I completely agree objectively, but this sort of seemingly reasonable preseason hype does not come around often (ever?) for us so I'm personally going with unmitigated optimism and enjoying it! ILL
