Lol. Hurt his foot, TJ stepped on it. That’s all I got ;). But I would think he would be out this Friday.
I tried to go back and watch it - couldnt really find a great view as his foot tended to go out of frame to the bottom of the picture, be obscured by the graphics, or be hidden behind other players involved in the play.

It did appear as if he lost traction, slid a little on what I will call step one. His shoulders were behind his leg but as his shoe began to stick his body moved forward in relation to his feet. Then as he alternated to the other foot and came back through to the original foot, now step 3, his body was now moving ahead of his leg and just as the foot was starting to leave the ground, TSJ stepped on the outer part of Moretti's foot. It looked like his weight landed across the lateral ankle and base of the 5th MT. This would have caused compression and impact force on that side of the foot but stretched the medial side...until it impacted the floor.

Again, not a clear view of any of that, and if that is even close to what happened then there are multiple options for what structures were actually injured but as long as lisfranc is not mentioned most of the others can be healed relatively quickly. Foot injuries can be tough to come back from though with the need to change speeds and directions.

Nico will probably be out a month or so. I think there are some conversations with Sencire that could take place, we will see though
Seems weird that Sencire would change his mind based on a month-long injury to a guy who’s only played significant minutes against opponents we’re expected to blow out.

Would personally be happy to see Nico’s minutes go to getting DGL his sea legs.

Would like to see more of DGL. The guy is underappreciated! We need more of DGL.
Agreed. There’s an argument to be made he’s our best ball-handler. He’s had some really impressive, athletic finishes this season. The jumper will fall. He’s been working on defense even if he has a lot of room to learn on that end

Maybe if 5 more people ask for a Moretti update, we’ll get one.

Yes, but ONLY if you pair that with the question of why the Illini do not have an elite point guard. Those are the magic words to open the secret Orange door.

You want the Breaking News?! He has an ear injury and a headache... from everyone asking what his status is.

Also odd because it seems Ty and Domask had been initiating the offense too, with Moretti and DGL both as backups.
