High of 89, should be fairly sunny this afternoon. Temp at kickoff will be 86. Slightly warm tailgating weather IMO but that's not going to stop us! Hoping to see a big crowd out there this afternoon.
Solid beer drinking weather.

Although, there's technically no rule that says if you give more money than God to an institution, you must also insist that your name replace theirs. Maybe it could still say ILLINI in that one spot.
Just saying, and apologies to Larry.
Ultimately this decision is that of Josh Whitman. (I doubt Larry said put GIES behind the press box. And it is more likely the DIA talked him into it or made the change without asking Larry.) I’m fully behind Josh: he is doing a fantastic job.

The state I'm in doesn't allow betting on college sports on the Internet. I was going to put $100 on the over (50.5). Let's see if our wise rulers saved me $100 or cost me $1,500.

I wouldn't say unpopular and I wouldn't say anyone "likes it" per se but for us to see Illini consistently in the top 25/and in top half of big 10 standings these are the types of sacrifices we need to make to keep up in the arms race of college football.
Most of us couldn’t even dream of having $100 million to give away, but putting it in context, Northwestern is spending $800 million for their new 35,000 seat stadium. $100m won’t even pay for a new end zone anymore. Not worth giving up naming rights for all of eternity for a temporary infusion of cash.

I believe there were other considerations, like having Gies as a long term partner and knowing, if things continue to progress, there will be more $ coming to keep us moving on up.
