Umm, did my school cease to exist? The ACC runs through Tallahassee,FL this year :thumb:
And if we happen to lose this one, and then lose again @ Nebraska, a 1-3 Illini team may be back down to ~40,000 in the stands by the time we return home against Purdue.I'm guessing ball park of 50k.
I'm interested in what people think about tv coverage. Is any ESPN/ABC better than any BTN to you guys? Is btn better than the lower level ESPN channels? What do you guys think? I guess fox is a player in this now too.
When you live in the East Coast you just take the games as they come and don't worry so much about announcers. I just hope I have ESPNews or can get it online.
If we can't come up big to beat WMU at home when we really need a win, this will say more of the players mental make-up than anything.
This game scares the crap out of me. And not only because I've got $200 riding on the over (4) for wins for the season.
Good bet? Or not?

Have I turned pessimist?

Agreed. Today's announcers, IMO, are in general so incompetent that I have my mute button on for 90 percent of all sporting events I watch on TV.
BTN is disastrous on SO MANY levels. Their football game coverage - technically - is efficient, but the announcers are just okay. Their studio work is OMG. I can't remember the former coach's name (with the mustache who coached at Pitt for a while), said something so inanely obvious that even my daughter laughed and repeated it. It was something along the lines of, "If the receivers don't drop the balls, they'll have more receptions." Well, thanks for THAT insight. I get the BTN Network, the Pac 12 Network and the SEC Network. The coverage of all sports with the other two networks is VASTLY superior to the BTN Network. To begin with, those networks offer lots of the current season's contests - in all kinds of sports. BTN repeats the bejiminy of BTN Live and BTN College Football, or whatever they call the shows over and over and over. Besides repeating programming over and over, they've used the same disastrous set from last year - a blue and white horizontal backdrop that morays my HD set. And when they did the B1G football previews, visiting camps during the preseason, the programming guide wouldn't even say if it was Wisconsin, Iowa or Illinois... BTN is minor league - single A baseball - compared to every other sports channel
available.
Other than prime time games, ESPN isn't any better. ESPN has been garbage for years now and I would much rather this game be on BTN than ESPN news.
Illini win by 10 in front of 53,000 in Penn State's uniform combo (yeah, I said it).
If you've got a surround sound setup, I've heard that you can mute one of the channels and just get the sounds of the game with no commentary.Agreed. Today's announcers, IMO, are in general so incompetent that I have my mute button on for 90 percent of all sporting events I watch on TV.
