IMHO, predicting a future outcome of a game between two teams that have proven to be able to compete with each other is a fool's errand. My concern is if the Illini will be:Yeah. I just tend to think that 4-5 games either way is too small of a sample to be predictive when we’ve got a season’s worth of data. For my personal brackets, the smallest sample size I’ll use for predictions is 1-15-2026 onward
1. Healthy
2. Determined to win
3. Focused on what they need to do to win (defend the arc, rebound, hit their triples at a solid level, move the ball quickly)
4. Ready to have each other's back
5. Limit the penetration of their guards to some extent.
If they do all of these things well for 40 minutes, it will result in an Illini win. Is it in their minds and are they capable of doing these things? No one knows. That we are interested in finding out is unquestionable. My fondest hope is that no pizza trays go through any TV screens.
