Yeah. I just tend to think that 4-5 games either way is too small of a sample to be predictive when we’ve got a season’s worth of data. For my personal brackets, the smallest sample size I’ll use for predictions is 1-15-2026 onward
IMHO, predicting a future outcome of a game between two teams that have proven to be able to compete with each other is a fool's errand. My concern is if the Illini will be:
1. Healthy
2. Determined to win
3. Focused on what they need to do to win (defend the arc, rebound, hit their triples at a solid level, move the ball quickly)
4. Ready to have each other's back
5. Limit the penetration of their guards to some extent.

If they do all of these things well for 40 minutes, it will result in an Illini win. Is it in their minds and are they capable of doing these things? No one knows. That we are interested in finding out is unquestionable. My fondest hope is that no pizza trays go through any TV screens.

Illinois is 4-4 in their last 8 games. Our 4 wins have come against Indiana, Oregon, Maryland, and NW. Its pretty straight forward that we are in a rut.

The defense has to get right in a hurry or we could easily be out by the end of the 1st weekend of the NCAA's.

The Ivisic Brothers also need to get right. I think I heard somewhere, sleepers media? that they are a combined 4 for 36 in the last 6 games from 3. That is absolutely brutal.

I think beating Wisconsin tomorrow pending they win vs. Washington would be a huge boost for us going forward.
Please stop watching that now trash tabloid channel.

Greg is unbearable as a sore UM winner. I unsubscribed after they clearly oriented content to ragebait Illini fans for views. You’re voting and paying with your time/attention.

Need to be much better on the glass. Only out rebounded Wisconsin 38-35 and gave up 14 offensive rebounds. Also missed, I think, 8 or 9 foul shots.

Have to be much better on the margins, obviously.

Slow them down, take away either Blackwell or Boyd and stick with your man... Pretty straight forward. Don't let the rest of their team beat you. Also would not hurt to press them a bit. Washington sped them up and pressed it slowed Wiskys scoring. 2 guys cant beat 5 if they each guard their man.

I also suggest if we stick to the screener when they pick n roll let the ball handler go. Oh and Boyd favors his left hand for crying out loud..

Still quite a few tickets available for tomorrow's game (which is in Session 6), let's fill those blue dots with orange!!

Somewhat surprising lack of movement since Monday. Here's to hoping we get as many late ticket purchases as we got the last time we played at the UC, as that game looked like it was going to have attendance of like 14k before a MASSIVE rush of ticket sales pushed attendance to almost 18k!

If anyone is looking for a silver lining, Wisconsin shoots 36.3% from three on the year compared to the Illini at 34.9%. This is Wisconsin's last 3 games...

44.7% at Washington (23.1% better)
48.2% vs. Maryland (32.8% better)
52.9% at Purdue (45.7% better)
---> Have not shot below their average in 3 games, since at Oregon on February 25

... and here are our last 3 games...

31.0% vs. Michigan (11.2% worse)
27.8% vs. Oregon (20.3% worse)
20.8% at Maryland (40.0% worse)
---> Have not shot above our average in 4 games, since at USC on February 18

Maybe, just maybe ... we get a bit of a reversion to the mean for both teams. I think if we shoot 34%+ from three and limit Wisconsin to below 36%, we will win tomorrow.
More likely they shoot the cover off the ball at their highest clip yet.

Fridays at 1:30 can be tough on those who are employed and can't take the day off. The game vs Bama was a Wednesday night, though a bit of a late start time.

Pretty afraid of MI. I can't lie.

But we can beat literally anyone else in this tournament if we just stay focused. That includes the dirty Badgers. I think we got this.

Kinda rough that Wisc gets done so late today and has to play again at 1:30p tomorrow.
Should be an advantage for us.
I'm thinking we break out and start knocking down 3's again.
IL - 95
WI - 75

Was not happy hearing Brad's comments in the Maryland postgame presser about his disapproval of the team's lack of energy level and enthusiasm. Hopefully, that is rectified tomorrow. Postseason time so time to lock in.
