Should be an interesting matchup.

Wisconsin is the 4th best scoring defense in big ten play at 65.6 Avg/G while Illinois is 13th at 77.8 Avg/G. But, Wisconsin is 14th in 3PT FG% Defense at 40.4% Both teams have negative rebounding margins in the big ten, Illinois is 13th at -10.3/G and Wisconsin is 10th at -2.9/G. Surprisingly, Wisconsin is 1st in Steals in big ten play at 7.3/G while the Illini are 12th at 4.4/G. Offensively Wiconsin shoots about 4% better than the Illini in big ten play but we both shoot about the same 3PT% --- we shoot many more 3PT shots/game than Wisconsin (almost 8 more/game).

Quick glance at the stats tells me it comes down to the Illini rebounding slightly better than their average and limiting Wisconsin to their rebounding average in league play, keeping them below their league best 7.3 steals/game and exploiting their league worst 3PT FG% defense (Numbers suggest we should make at least 8 3pt fgs today).

Stats tell me this game should be a competitive game in the 60s.

I'm looking forward to the game, won't have a beer, but I will be nursing a peach tea. My wishes are that they out rebound them, get at least 10 points on fast breaks and that Morgan gets 10 Plus rebounds with at least 2 monster jams! And that we win baby.
FYI Wisconsin's student section is going to be at the game today, so now I really hope that Illinois can pull off a win.
