Have to learn to handle physical play. And develop other options to score than constantly firing threes if they aren't falling. Really big game now, I would probably call it a must win given the NW meltdown.

The pattern of the last several years seems to indicate we’ll play loose, play hard, shoot well and beat Wisconsin by double digits afree that type of loss, haha. Let’s hope so!
True. It will be a very big game for both schools. Wisconsin may be coming in off of two tough losses this week. Not sure if we want a Wisconsin team coming in on a two game losing streak or a big win against Marquette.

Very glad this game is in Champaign. I feel that will be the difference. Really need a bounce back effort going into a game vs #1 Tennessee.

21 games left + the conference tournament. WAY too early to pump the volume up this high after 8 games. We knew this was going to be a bumpy ride early in the season given the wholesale changes and relative youth. Now that it's here, people aren't handling it well.

This is and was always going to be a work in progress early.

If the refs call this game like they just called the NW game.. We will lose this one as well. This team can't handle a physical team. Ole Miss, Bama, and now NW..
I would imagine the Angry Elf is taking note as well.

Will check back with you IF we drop both this one and TN. That would be a pretty big hole 1/3 into the season and likely puts a pretty high floor on tournament seed potential; and really, puts quite a bit of doubt about this team if we were to let Wisconsin come into State Farm and win. Hopefully, this is all a moot point after this game, but every game counts and the NW stumble was very avoidable. Good teams find a way to win that one, or at the very least, come out with an extreme sense of urgency in the next one.

There is no doubt the Illini are loaded with young talent. One concern though has been the lack of a floor leader emerging to get the team focused and moving when games are tight or the other team is making a run. Ty has natural leadership abilities, but unfortunately red shirted for understandable reasons. I was hoping Kylan would assume the role of floor leader and motivator, but he shrinks from that responsibility when his shot is not falling. Early in the season, it is too much to expect one of our three top young players (Tomi, KJ, and Will) , all of whom are new to American culture, to get on teammates when rebounding, hustle plays, and defensive intensity are less than optimal. I think TSJ and Marcus were exceptional as both leaders and players last season, and that key aspect has been absent much of his year. Here's hoping someone emerges who can win the respect and confidence of their teammates, and use their voice to positively motivate the Illini when the game starts to slip away like it did at Northwestern.

I agree with everybody else. This game is huge. We need to find a way to get this done.

Has anyone else noticed that basketball players are wearing shorts again? Come to think of it, football players are wearing shorts now too.
