He had 25 exactly in both games, not 25+. One of those games, MSU, was a double digit loss where the game was never in doubt. Neither of those are unbelievable games.

Ok what's your point? Are you saying that Kofi deserves NPOY over Davis right now?

They are very close but with how many games Kofi has missed and his pedestrian performances in big games you can't really argue that he's surpassed Davis.

There is still plenty of time. This isn't like last year where Garza was anointed POY by everyone before the year started.

Is there any chance this game gets cancelled? I know it’s rare to postpone, but Champaign is almost guaranteed to receive major impacts from this winter storm. Wasn’t sure if there was any precedent for this.

I do not see Kofi's name coming up by the talking heads on national TV when national player of the year is discussed. The Murray kid from Iowa was in the conversation earlier. However, Iowa has struggled so he is now under the radar.

This game is hugh. Wisc is a very good team, better than MSU. If we win this, it will be our biggest win if th year so far.

I think MSU is a better team but Wisc has one elite player.

So excited for this one and the upcoming schedule. PSU at home is the only "opportunity" left for a terrible loss, and I say bring on the big boys. While the schedule is brutal, that is also what enabled last year's team to go from #22 in the AP Poll hoping for a decent seed to an undisputed #1 seed - beating good teams. This team has the ability to gel quickly and get red hot, IMO. Here are the standings as we head into this week:

1. #11 Wisconsin: 8-2
1. #18 Illinois: 8-2
2. #13 Michigan State: 7-2
3. #4 Purdue: 7-3
4. #16 Ohio State: 6-3
5. Indiana: 7-4

We need to be rooting for Maryland to knock off MSU in College Park on Tuesday, and I wouldn't mind seeing Minny score the upset vs. Purdue before our game, either. :) Either way, the winner Wednesday night will sit in first place with a MASSIVE win in our only matchup of the season. I don't need to go on and on about how huge this game is, but getting a win vs. a fellow first place team before the following home stretch is, obviously, massive:

(NET Rankings):

at #29 Indiana
at #8 Purdue
vs. #78 Northwestern
at #113 Rutgers
at #18 Michigan State
vs. #19 Ohio State
at #47 Michigan
vs. #96 Penn State
vs. #23 Iowa

Our opportunity to wrack up Quad 1 wins starts tomorrow. Let's make the most of it!

The team that gets more shots is going to win this game. They are better at taking care of the ball, we are better at crashing the glass. If we can get the edge on the boards and avoid the turnover fairy then we should have this one in the bag.

Also saw Evan Miya tweet that only 4 teams in the top 50 have given up 10 or more double digit scoring runs. Wisconsin is one of them. I think it'll be a back and forth game but at some point in the 2nd half I hope we can blitz them and put the game to bed. My heart needs a break from these close games.

My point is those aren't 'unbelievable' games. You are over-exaggerating Davis accomplishments. They are good but not that good.

I don't really feel like its an exaggeration. In the Purdue game he completely overshadowed Ivey who is probably the better NBA prospect and was making tough shots.

Houston is a top-25 defensive team according to Kenpom. So is Marquette.

Speaking of … GOD, I wish we had that Marquette game back. It’d literally be a Q1 road win now!

I'm glad to see we've moved on from arguing about our own players!

Unbelievable games? The only one that fits this is the Purdue game. If you want to throw in Houston, I guess if you consider them a top team. As for Kofi, he's had one opportunity against a top team and that was when he was semi-concussed.
I agree with you that he hasn't had many chances, but you did leave Arizona out.

I am in San Diego for a few days and need a place where I can see this game. Any ideas near the airport area.

Not talking about those games, I said those were very good games. The other games mentioned: MSU and Marquette were not.

I didn't but that's one. I don't think these games matter that much in deciding who gets rewarded. I always feel like being the best player on the best/better team will get rewarded. Although that didn't seem to matter last year with Garza winning everything. Anyway just win on Wednesday that's what matters more than anything. Kofi could score 40 and if we lose I won't care.

SD alumni club used to watch at McGregor's but attendance and location were bad, so not sure if they still do. Better bets may be The Local downtown (but its a Badgers bar) or hoping one of the many sports bars in PB will play it (SD Taproom is great).

If this storm really does drop a foot or snow, what are the chances that the game gets canceled? I’m worried the crowd will be very lacking if there is that much snow.

Davis has had unbelievable games against some of the top teams in the nation. Kofi can't really say that right now.

That's been the separating factor so far.
It is tough for Kofi because someone has to get him the ball first, but you are correct 2 of Kofi's 3 worst games were against Purdue and Arizona.

I wouldn't set expectations too high for Belo. If he plays at all, I wouldn't expect much after a week with the rona. Not saying he won't surprise us, but I wouldn't hope for 20 minutes again.
All Trent needs is 3 minutes off in both halves and Belo could do that running at 10%

I wish, I was never in the games long enough to break a sweat. 😎
For the life of me I can't remember sweating or not and I started until we moved to a new school when I was a Junior.

I asked a source and here was their official answer. This was a few minutes ago

I just heard… Wisconsin will be here tomorrow night. So as long as their bus is here tomorrow night a game will be played

But I imagine they will be staying the night on Wednesday as well lol

There's some great tickets available but no way I can make it to the game with the expected weather

I can't imagine it ever getting cancelled even though the bad weather is probably going to hurt our home-court advantage. Figures.

The old-timers here (and it makes me sad to think of myself and '83-84 as old timers) remember the Kentucky game when the weather was so bad the officials didn't make it to the game at Assembly Hall but the game was still played and Kentucky won a close one. Did we pull three refs out of the stands to work the game? Could you even imagine that happening now? Considering how much of every postgame thread is spent on officiating
