No, Damonte is exactly the type of player I want to see on the court. He's gritty, smart, and he knows his role. I want Curbelo to be as great as anybody here does. I'm just not sure he is any of those things. He certainly hasn't proven my trust on the court, but I am looking forward to him proving me wrong. And for the record, I think we win that Purdue game without him. Illinois usually finds a way to win those big games at home and that was an uncharacteristic loss in that situation.

Yup, vs. Kentucky. We only used two zebras in those days, though, not three.
Correction. 3 officials worked that game: Charles Due, Bob Hiltibran and Bill Mitze. All were local educators.

I am far more worried about getting less minutes for Frazier. Williams can not score a point and he helps the team. Trent needs to be a scorer also, and I am afraid playing him 40 minutes per game is wearing him out. We will need a jump shot from him in many end of game situations and that is tough to do if your legs are gassed.
IIRC he had to play 48 vs. Purdue.

Reports are the the highways are ice rinks at this point. Champaign public works is plowing but I'm not sure how well they are going to be able keep up. Side roads will be your issue as you said. Be careful!
University should open the doors to students with an ID, no charge. Find a seat. If you happen to be in one and the ticket holder shows up, move to another open seat. We need the place rockin'

We had, repeat had a large group coming in from Decatur. Not anymore, roads are a accident waiting to happen! I choose not to put my family nor 1st responders at risk for a Basketball game. Open it up for all Students free of charge and Chambana residents.

You crazy man? I think we lose by a lot more w/o him.

If he didn't gain your trust last year, I don't know what you expect. Sure, he's not a perfect player, but he is w/o a doubt one of our three best players.

What is the weather at this point in Champaign?

Bad. Its piling up faster than it can be cleared off. Main streets are manageable if you drive slow but side streets are going to be an adventure if you don't have a truck

I guess everyone's entitled to their own opinions...but where exactly below do you see Illinois filling the gap of 20pts/6reb/3assists and 0 turnovers if curbelo isn't in the game? And he's, at the very least, an average defender on the team.

Just based off NOAA weather app, anyone not in walking distance to the game is at risk - even with AWD. I drove from Danville to the December ‘83 Kentucky game, but those were benign conditions by comparison.

But...but...I'm confused....I thought DFW was getting way too many tics....that we would be much better off playing the freshmen....cause you know we'd be better next year. I mean he only scored 2 pt against the mild cats....com'on man
This is exactly why there is so much controversy about Williams on this board. No one has said anything negative that I've seen in this post and yet we have to have this kind of cute comment. You're right, you are confused.

We need Andre to win BTT and make the NCAA Final Four. Got to get him back into playing shape.

I may be wrong but I think I72 is closed. Or state police are encouraging the avoidance of I72.
