Probation for Michigan

In the past, recruiting restrictions wouldn’t bode well for a fledgling Michigan dynasty. Probably won’t affect anything now like scholarship reductions would have. Either way I think 3 or 4 loss seasons will be the norm at UM. ‘24 includes texas, Oregon, and osu. Along with SC, Washington, and likely 1 other middle of the road big 10 team that’ll play a great game (Illinois???).

Even if you think the punishment is light, take solace in the fact it’s very unlikely they’ll see the type of success they had last year again any time soon.

I'd trade 3 years of probation for a national title any day. Way to come down hard NCAA!

The whole point of all these recruiting regulations was to maintain the story that college athletes were amateurs -- aside from the scholarships they weren't paid to play, supposedly. With NIL that's out the window. So what's the point of all the rules anyway?

It's the NCAA that really deserves the contempt here.

Contempt? Or pity for their impotence?

Although I’m sure if illinois does anything they’ll try to apply the death penalty. UM gets a pass, per usual.

I think I saw denard Robinson just got a dui also, who is working there as some type of coach. That’s 2 guys thatve been busted for dui this off-season. Not a great look over there at the moment

NCAA has no power and most certainly doesn't want to meet the reigning champions* in court just so they can simultaneously get their asses handed to them, continue to show everyone that their fangs and claws have been filed off completely, and be yet another reason for the super league of football to come into existence.

It's a free-for-all and any school with a little pluck and good enough lawyers is going to keep the NCAA off their backs. It's over.

They should have lost scholarships due to "lack of institutional control". I am sure Appalachian State will get the death penalty now for buying a recruit at meal at Chik Fil A. Still have video gate.
