First day of the second summer session today. I am going to assume everyone is on campus, enrolled, dialed in, and ready for a great year of basketball and education. If anyone knows differently, let me know.

So how does the new 5 for 5 rule reshape our grid? I'm reading Ivisic twins are still done after this year, but everyone else gains an extra year?

Jake Davis, Andrej, Mirk and Blake all get one additional year of eligibility. All the freshmen have 5 years.

Apparently I "liked" the June 24th post but failed to realize this is a brand new thread until today. *sigh* Boomers. smh

Doesn’t seem to be any mention of him since April 12th. Did an AI search, and this is what came up:

Current Status of Toni Bilic

Toni Bilic has entered the transfer portal, which means he is actively seeking to transfer to another school. However, he has not yet announced a new destination. As of now, there are no updates on where Bilic might transfer.

I'll never forget a post that called for Billic to start over Andrej next year

Yes, there were a good couple of pages debating why or why not Billic will be starting on our team in 26-27.

From what I remember, most of it was predicated around Mirk calling him “awesome” at the F4.

Similarly, Brad said Jakstys would’ve played big minutes had he not suffered the blood clot, and some folks ran with it saying he’ll be a rotation player next year.

…..

I think it’s important to contextualize “buzz.” There’s quotes from fellow teammates and coaches, and then there’s hardcore media reporting from IlliniInquirer and others. The latter is the one I’d put stock in (i.e. Wagler looking great in the summer, Mirk likely to take a big leap, Lincoln being better than expected, etc etc).
