Harmon is good
I like a lineup of experience that looks like:

1. Harmon (looked good with the ball in his hands)
2. Shannon
3. Domask
4. Quincy G
5. Hawkins

Long, solid shot making capability, lots of experience. Could do a lot worse. Then you have Dain, Rodgers, DGL, Harris, Goode, Hansberry off the bench. Solid depth pieces to play with.

All looks good as long as coach can find the right combinations of guys and minutes to be consistent for 40 mins.

Chicago Burbs
That team would lose to most good teams at the ARC.

That being said, unorganized basketball is contagious. Especially in this type of setting. Lot of ++ athletes on this team-but a lottttt of work to do.

Let me go get a life after providing much more of a recap than any sane human would.

Two things impressed me.
1. It seemed like trying to throw a pass against this Illini team was tantamount to trying to throw a ball through a mulberry tree.

2. The willingness of the Valencia team to try to throw the ball through the mulberry tree was sheer lunacy. That was a very fundamentally poor opponent.

Other than that, Shannon showed up. Sure wish he was the vocal and passionate leader this team badly needs. Good to see so many guys get a chance to show their areas they need to improve. Lots of athleticism but not much passion or focus in the first half...a lot of that due to so many guys playing and so much substitution. Underwood has another huge challenge in deciding who gets to play. Things did seem smoother with Shannon, Hawk, and Goode in the lineup. Who gets those other 5-6 spots in the rotation is a real mystery. FT shooting was horrendous as per usual. Guerrier and Hansborough have enough good motions but need to get real specific at all points and TAKE MORE TIME!! They will be shooting plenty of them and both are potential at 80%+. DD has quieted down some at the line and that is good. Ty actually made some FTs and that is huge.

Overall, with all the minutes spread around so much, the game was avg. for me. BU and staff will really deserve some accolades if this team finishes in the top 3 of the B1G...but that is the plan and it should be to win it.

As has been said, many thanks to those responsible for giving us the opportunity to see this Illini team play in early August.

Nico would get 35 min per game
Not having watched any of this team yet, I'm curious why the insiders are so relatively down about Nico? Or at least lacking excitement compared to DGL. Is it primarily defense?

Didn’t watch the game. Have just seen the handful of gif highlights posted on twitter.

Pretty sure in a recent interview Fletch said they still have a long ways to go to get Sencire where they want him to be. If he’s getting that kind of lift now..wow will he be a monster in 2 years. Really hope they find enough minutes to keep him happy, although it’s looking like it’s going to be harder and harder to keep him off the floor.

Yeah. Shannon's our best player and he should get most of the minutes at the 2. However, Harmon and Harris are too good to not get playing time.

I have a feeling we'll go small a lot and play TSJ at the 3 and either Harris or Harmon at the 2.

Impressive win. Concerns are 3 pt shooting, free throw shooting, and PG play.

Really would have been nice to have Marcus playing. Another shooter could really open the floor.
