Spring Football 2016

I thought Freshman QB Eli Peters looked really good. 6-3 210. If I walked into the scrimmage without knowing who any of the QB's were.....i woud've picked Peters as the best of the bunch...smooth release and athletic looking. He just looks like a Big Ten QB. My money is on him once Lunt is gone.

Good to know. Hope he is a stud!

Yea, hes got that athleticism that all of us wanted to see on the field! PLUS he could throw the ball! I really hope he doesn't redshirt and get some playing time to prove himself. watched couple of his films, man I really like how he ran over defenders we NEED that!

It's nice that he ran over HS defenders. But there's no way a starting QB is going to be doing that on a regular basis, regardless of whether he can. That Peters has the athleticism and strength to bring the hit to tackler is definitely a positive. He just has to make good decisions. The vast majority of the time he shouldn't be trying to run defenders over. Live to fight another day. As long as he makes good decisions, his strength and athleticism bode well for his durability.

I saw that too. Truly unreal that they're able to do that.

He was explaining that it's more of a family thing as it is too expensive to take your kids out and buy them multiple hundred dollar tickets to a regular season game.

Someday... I can remember when Blackhawks tickets were $5. Same idea - enjoy the cheap tickets to Illini games now.

Smart, articulate, and like able. Too bad we only get him for one year. He is the kind of guy that could be a face of the program.

So the last practice is tomorrow. What happens in-between now and Camp in Champaign this fall?

Are there film sessions? Players allowed to lift together but no formal practices?

Does anyone know if the coaches moved any players to RB after Dre's injury? Or is there a little known walk-on who is tearing it up?

Seems risky to have only 3 RBs (Vaughn, Foster, Corbin) for Spring Ball with only one on the way in Tre Nation. 4 RBs is pretty thin depth when navigating a BIG schedule imho. Am I missing something?
