Spring Football 2017

Fighting happens on every college football team in the country. How each coach chooses to deal with it might be different, but we are already short handed on players so why not send a message to the whole team rather than just sending a few players off the field for the day?

Overall, I agree that it's not a big deal that needs to be read into too deep.

It's just that it seems as if Lovie has chosen to take a back seat this spring, running a tight ship of no comment at this point in time. I thought we would be hearing more, but I guess I was wrong. Not a big deal because I'm sure you all know by now that in Lovie we trust!!

Oh man, are you in for a ride then. Lovie is the EPITOME of no comment haha. Take it us long time Bears followers. If loose lips sink ships, Lovie Smith is the Coast Guard.

I just saying, I haven't heard anything out of spring practice and this little article was the first thing I saw. I'm certainly not making anything out of it. Anybody have a sniff as to how spring practice is going?

Media hasn't had much access to it it seems, I'd anticipate we'll hear a bunch from open practice on Sat.

The low number of players available, especially at QB makes it unlikely you're going to hear much that's very interesting. I'm hoping for no major injuries and not much more than that.

What are the odds that they move the open practice on Saturday to later in the day?

The event currently overlaps with the basketball gave @ Rutgers. I'd like to be able to watch the game AND go to the practice, if possible. Seems like they wouldn't want it to conflict and the practice would be easiest to shift.

Probably unlikely, since they have both been scheduled for several weeks now. Obviously the bball game means more now than it did a few weeks ago, but it's probably not worth changing last minute.

If the basketball game were in Champaign, might be a different story.

How many people do you think are going to be at the practice? I'm guessing not a huge number

Now this is the kind of info I want to hear!! Who is moving up, moving out, any surprises, the new kids coming on board to challenge the incumbents. More, more , more!!!

Follow Jeremy Werner on twitter. That's where you're going to find most of the limited info coming out of practice. Does interviews almost every day of practice.

They are not making it amenable to attend. The early start time, no concessions cuts out alumni driving in from out of town. Last year's open practice was an event, but we did not fill the stands at all. But once the autograph session started, it was quite a scene on the field.

There's really not much point for them to go all out for this event. It simply will not draw a large crowd. I will agree that putting it at like, 3pm, would likely be better for attendance with the hoops game at the same time.

He doesn't know as much as you think...

Just sayin'... The guy has some access, but he's not nearly as knowledgeable as you think.

How can one not like Kendrick Foster? He seems like genuinely good dude who's humble and focused on what he wants and is willing to put the time into getting it.
