BB has brought some excitement back to Champaign. This game will really help to sell season tickets. This game will go a long way for good will in the state. Did Beaton play?

Luke Ford looked great today. Also hopefully Beason puts work in this summer, I see the WR room wide open still.

Seriously,,, I know defense tonight was not the greatest, but the one handed catch? I mean what the heck. Doubt it's a fluke that he's a good reciever that can catch the ball and very well with great hand's. Why was he lost,, Lovie????

I saw Navaro and Ford stand out. Maybe Thompson? The rest looks open to competition. With great blocking and a great run game that looks like it might be enough. QB's looked comfy back there.

O Line depth looked a little shaky on the second team. We need to stay healthy there and I think we saw why recruiting big bodies has been a priority.

Watched the entire game. Bielema just does things right. He's the first true (and good) college football coach we've had since Zook. Can't wait to see what this annual event looks like in the years ahead with 30,000 in the stands.

How about 60-70 catches for our TE's this year, too! 5 per game between these two guys should not be a stretch.

Can't believe Illinois wasted Luke Ford last year. How does that happen?

You lost me at Zook.

I did see Beason on the field. Don't think the ball went to him. Peters is our QB for sure as of tonite. I would say Spann is making an argument for being the #1 backup.
I saw someone tweeted about how the spring game rules really hurt Isaiah's game. All the defense has to do is touch him to count as a tackle. So his running ability I'm not as worried about. It's just gonna be about whether he can show a good enough arm to fit into the offense they are wanting to run.

Rose Bowl in year 3. Three bowls in 5 years.......including in the year he was fired. Those feats alone put him in the company of Mike White and Mackovic.
He wasted talent like no coach before or since. He went 3-9 with a team that could have won 10.

Yes it is and it didnt seem llike he threw a lot of great passes. A few were dropped but many not very good.
The big problem i see is bp. I would have liked tomsee him on the blue squad to compare because he always seems to melt under pressure. Maybe this year he will finally stand tall in a big game when the pressure is on but im still not buying any stock in that just yet

There were what, 25 future NFL players on that roster? Zook was proof that a college team can, in fact, beat an NFL team.

We need more TEs - look at Iowa State's depth behind Koler, their All American. Go about 7-8 deep across all 5 classes.

We'll get there - loved what I saw last night. Jacked for what this is gonna look like and soon.

This is probably common knowledge but I missed it. Does anyone know why Mike Epstein and Jake Hansen were not playing, or at least I didn't see them in the 15 minute highlight video?

I have no idea why Hansen hasn't been participating. Did he have an injury or surgery in the off-season?

Epstein is not officially back. He may or may not return next year. It's weirdly been worded as "his decision."

Looks like we are going to have one great 3 headed monster in the backfield

Iowa State uses a lot of double TE sets which BB said the ILLINI will be doing. BB knows how valuable TE play is and we will get there. There are 7 on the roster now with only Ford, Barker and Moore the only ones with experience. Didn't I hear a coach say that Tip Reiman was having a good spring???
