Just read that news. Wasn't expecting anything to actually happen on that front. Four first round picks... they have to be planning to use one to trade for something!

I've heard a bit of Elias Petterson chatter listening to some talking heads today. Maybe this move gave them the extra draft capital and the extra cap room to give him a change of scenery as well...

I hope not...............trading away an underachiever and then trading for the same kind of player ?..........plus Petersson has a higher salary.........I really really hope not ..........

The Blues traded their speedy, goal-scoring winger to Washington on Tuesday afternoon, acquiring forwards Connor McMichael, Milton Gastrin and the 16th pick in the upcoming draft from the Capitals.

It's a risk, but you can't deny the talent when he's on. The Last Minute Blues podcast I was listening to yesterday morning, one guy actually made a compelling argument. Regardless, I'm anxious to see what we do with FOUR 1st round picks!!

With the McTavish trade and drafting 2 C's, I think it's safe to say our depth at C is solid now. Surprised they didn't go for a D in there or Belchetz when they got to 16.
