Bit of an odd moment in tonight's game with Winn getting pulled in the 2nd inning due to back spasms. Saggese was moved from 2nd base to shortstop. Donovan is the DH tonight and they couldn't play him in the field without losing the DH spot in the line-up so they moved Pages, who was starting at catcher, to 2nd base and brought in Yohel Pozo, who they called up from Memphis after Herrera's injury, at catcher.

My first reaction to Pages at 2nd was wondering why on earth they just didn't put Donovan there. Then I remembered the DH rule and it made sense.

Cardinals hit into 5 DP's today..wow
Was rough, but I'm encouraged by the lineup and starters in their 3rd turn. I do think Oli has managed us into 2 losses and Pop sent a runner into the 3rd.

Winning 2 out of 3 vs the Phillies is nice, especially beating those two pitchers! Maybe Contreras is finding his stroke.

First time we've beaten the Phillies in a series since June 20-22, 2017 when we took 2 out of 3 in Philly. First time we've beaten them in a home series since June 9-11 of that same season when we swept them in a 3 game series.

Always said the only important thing coming out of spring training was to be healthy. Sonny Gray was not good statistically, but he has come out on fire during the regular season.

This is why I was telling people on here to not take spring training stats that seriously. A lot of times guys are working on different pitches and will just be throwing those certain pitches in games so that they can get a feel for it before the regular season starts.

Question for you guys.
What would you want the front office to do should our Cards be in contention come the trade deadline. Say we are still hovering around .500 and within a few games of the last spot or even have the last spot. Let's assume Nado is performing similar to how he is currently .290, around 15hr and 50 RBI. Teams would be calling. Do you add, would fans want them add or do you stand still?. Do you trade Nado and get a nice little haul? The fans aren't showing up for a pretty exciting brand of baseball now. They can't have it both ways.
Before any of this could happen, we are going to have win some games on the road.

Sell. They are not really contenders if they are merely struggling to get the last WS slot.
