St Louis Cardinals 2026

Burly keeps on pounding the baseball.......4 RBI so far today..........J-Walk with 2 run smashed tater.....it's all good in the neighborhood.........it really really is.................9-2 good guys , bottom 5th.....
As of today, Burleson has 90 rbi and Walker 88. They're both going to drive in more than 100 on the season, barring injury. That 90 for Burly is one short of the NL lead. Both are batting about .290, which is rare these days. That's an awful lot of production from your 3-4 spots. Let's crank Baez up again for the Cincinnati series. It's a hitter-friendly ballpark.

the not so distant future of the Cardinals lineup could be.......................

1 . JJ Wetherholt 2B
2 . Raniel Rodriguez C
3 . Alec Burleson 1B
4 . Jordan Walker RF
5 . Joshua Baez LF
6 . Masyn Winn SS
7 . Tai Peete CF
8 . Josiah Ragsdale DH
9 . Jesus Baez 3B

just an early morning thought........it really really is.................

I don't know anything at all about 7,8, &9. What's up with these guys? Most important thing I see is the need to get Burleson and Walker set up with long-term contracts.

Early on to be too excited, especially for Jesus Baez and Peete.

But Baez has been mashing this year (acquired in the helsey deal) and has only played better since his promotion to Springfield. IMO, he’s being slept on a bit on the national scene,

Peete is a toolsy played acquired in the Donovan deal (which man. That has become quite the haul) who has cut down on strikeouts this year.

I’m a little worried it’s too many guys with strikeout concerns, but it’s a lot of star potential across the board

Peete already has 2 games where he hit for the cycle this years.......getting rave reviews for his development this year......

seldom talked about player is former # 1 round draft pick Chase Davis......he was just promoted to AAA Memphis ......24 years old and hasn't put up the numbers they thought he would......

the Cardinals are now rated to have the # 2 rated farm system , based mainly on the work Bloom and staff have done by ridding the MLB roster of numerous over paid vet's and making such shrewd deals that has rejuvenated the entire minor league system....

my list this morning was based on watching a lot of video on the Cardinal .TV app .....best purchase I have made was subscribing to this app.............................my list certainly will change as the seasons progress .....just passing time waiting for the doubleheader today...........

the future looks much brighter from the last days of the Moz regime.........it really really does..................JMHO'S.....

I get the Moz hate, I really do. He was the guy when things started to go south. But if you think about it, of course the cupboard was bare. Of course it was. He was tasked with winning like the good old days on a budget that stayed static while the rest of the league passed it by. So he couldn't afford to trade established players for prospects to re-stock the minors. The owners did not let him go into a re-build, and when they decided they wanted to do that, they brought in someone else. In the meantime, the minors got depleted not because prospects didn't work out, but because they got promoted. Walker, Winn, Burleson, Herrera, just to name a few.

I think it's fair to judge the front office when the owners give them the means and they fail. Don't think that's what happened here. Just as I wouldn't blame the Pirates' GM for failing to win, I don't blame Moz. He made a lot of good moves, and some bad ones too (find me a front office that hasn't) but it was a tough assingment. If Bloom fails I'm not going to blame him either. This is the DeWitt Austerity Regime, and has been for years.

To Bloom's credit, he's brought in a lot of good prospects. He was tasked with turning every single veteran asset at his disposal into prospect talent, and for the most part, he did it. It'll be a while before we know (1) if enough of these prospects are valuable major leaguers and (2) if those prospects that pan out are going to be the foundation of a competitive baseball club or if they will be assets to be traded for another crop of prospects.

The answer to question #1 will tell us if we have a good front office. The answer to question #2 will tell us if we have good ownership.

With the relative post all star power outage from JJ and JWalk, not sure where this team would be without Burleson.

I also wonder if some teams are kicking themselves for not making a harder play for O’Brien.

Really thought he was available, but he had a blip for a few weeks leading up to the deadline that might have overly spooked teams

{ 64-61 }

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A pitcher's duel in a hitter's friendly ballpark ends in a 2-1 victory for the Cardinals in the first game of today's doubleheader.....

Quinn Mathews pitched 4 very good innings setting a career high 7 strikeouts and turned it over to the BP and BP came through with 5 excellent innings capped off by Riley O'Brien striking out the side in 1-2-3 fashion for his NL leading 31st save......

Burleson with the 2 RBI double in the 1st inning was all we needed to get the first game win in this 5 game series.......
next game in a couple of hours with Pallante on the mound for the Redbirds................CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!....I really really can't....
