Could someone explain the appeal of Tailgate Village? Looks like the Bring Your Own Tailgate spots this season are (due to high demand) exclusively in Tailgate Village (and a Tailgate Village Overflow) instead of Grange Grove. Ok, fair enough, but the prices this year are higher - for example, $150 for some games and $300 for the Purdue game. I've attached a map of the main location and overflow, which is presently only offered for games in which the main Village is fully booked.

My question is about the location. I typically see people set up ad-hoc tailgates in the grassy areas of SFC, so what is the appeal of paying $ for something you can get for free 50 yards away in the non-designated Village area on the north side and/or grass easements along the street. Does this imply they'll be cracking down on tailgaters in this area and/or blocking it off?

Exclusivity. Membership has its privileges.

Maybe a guaranteed view of the screens on the back of the scoreboard, and whatever they end up doing pre-game with it?

That's clever, but there are still-growing trees immediately to the north in the SFC lot that would present sightline issues to those on the ground (on the east side at least, didn't check the west side).

Doesn’t matter. The higher the entry price, the more exclusive, by definition, something becomes. And exclusivity is a commodity.
