Game was ugly but winnable. 29.4% fg, 17.4% 3p, 6/11 assist to turnovers, gave up 17 off boards to volunteers.

And we still should have won!

The excruciating parts of these games are the lapses in fundamentals during crunch time.

Tennessee had a TO left and chose not to use it because the scramble in that situation favors the offense.
Exactly. I'm a firm believer in Bobby Knight's policy of not calling time outs at the end of the game. The better you're coached, the bigger your advantage.

I'd say with this young team it's a good idea to call them on defense for sure, and possibly even offense, at least until mid-February.

Brad has now had 2 games where he admitted he’s screwed up big time. Is he getting worse? He’s been around the game long enough - not sure what’s going on. Of course It helps when players execute better.
He's throwing himself under the bus to protect guys who've been playing long enough to know the basics.

If Tomi stops the ball, it's OT.

If KJ doesn't throw a lazy inbounds pass, we win.

These are young guys and they have a coach that will go to the mat for them. The issues are on tape.

I understand Brads adaption to the new college basketball and being comfortable completely reloading his roster each year.

You cannot screw this Morez thing up I'm sorry it would do a lot of damage
It just seems so clear to most fans that there is an obvious solution to this situation. I just don't understand the reluctance to do it.

Not sure if this showed up on TV, but before we threw the ball away at the end of the game, BU spent nearly the entire timeout yelling at/ complaining to the ref about a call. KJ then throws it away out of the time out.

There's plenty of blame to go around here. But at such a crucial point of the game, I would have preferred our coach to be coaching our guys instead of yelling at the refs.
To me, this shows he is trusting his assistant coaches to draw up a play. An asst coach in a zebra's face would not have the same effect.

I'm down with that.

Let's give a little love where due. Kylan has been so steady and getting better every game. His defense is just amazing. Went 10 pts, 1 assist, 1 steal, 7 rebounds, and 0 turnovers tonight. That is a veteran who is growing and is going to be even better as the season goes on.

Damage is already done is kind of the way Brad sees it ...

Apparently Brad lost the video tape to show the team in one of his class room sessions of Danny Ainge's full court drive with 6 seconds left to beat whomever sometime in the last century.

Like all of us I’m pissed we lost another winnable game.

But does anytime realize how good we can be if this team gels by February? We have the pieces to be much better than last year where TSJ (and Marcus) willed us to wins.

Things could blow uo, but this team has the pieces to get to the final four and win it all.

I'm liking the post to show my appreciation for the insight.

It sounds crazy, though. Bonafide crazy. I'm going to need to assume layers of miscommunication here, because they can play together and I've seen Morez look motivated out there.
How would you feel if you were a top high school level recruit, you played your heart out when given the chance, and you were sitting with a player who can't squeeze a rebound and can't play a lick of defense at B1G level in front of you...and it seemed clear that there wasn't a thing you could do to prove this should change?

What I will say is that I do appreciate a coach willing to stand up in front of the media and say, "I screwed up." As frustrating as that is, Underwood saying it is at least him recognizing the issue. Now let's see how it's corrected. But the first step to solving a problem is admitting there is a problem in the first place.
Exactly. Actions rule the day. Let's make the correction and move on.
