This is going to be messy. So many crimes are covered up by universities it makes me sick. Sometimes I wish college sports would all go away.

Messy how? Unfortunately, just an average day in the SEC from everything I'm hearing in and around Knoxville. Please enlighten me.

Sadly, this incident really says more about many college athletes in general and less about SEC institutions , as compared to any other conference . Don't fool yourself thinking the B1G, ACC or PAC or ND is any better . They aren't .

Generally speaking, the more academically prestigious the school, the less tolerant they are of such activity. That most certainly makes the SEC the most likely to have problems. Don't kid yourself that there IS a difference, but I'll agree that it happens everywhere, there is just a difference in degree and frequency.

Not that it's exactly the same situation but ESPN certainly wasn't shy about the Sandusky thing at PSU before all the facts came out.

Perhaps they don't want to discuss it, because they want to stay out of court.

ESPN is in bed with the sec and will not do anything to undermine the league. It is purely a dollars and cents call. Their credibility was flushed years ago.

I don't think it has anything to do with court. As was already mentioned, ESPN was all over the Penn State allegations from the get-go. This is about protecting their own assets, i.e. SEC viewership.

SEC Viewership? Manning hasn't been in the SEC in almost 20 years.
This is from 2005...
...The Times-Union obtained a copy of Naughright's most recent legal action. In it she asks for sanctions against Manning because, according to the motion, Manning violated the settlement by making statements about Naughright to ESPN.

The motion later says that Manning made the remarks "on network television nationally in a documentary entitled ESPN Classic Sports Century: Peyton Manning.

It is unclear exactly what comments Manning allegedly made that spurned Naughright to take her latest legal steps.

Now, I'm not saying you are wrong, but without further evidence, I'm going to stick by my comment that ESPN is going to avoid rehashing this.

Brian Kelley, Butch Jones and Tim Beckman, all 3 have a common tie. All three have/had similar accusations against them. Not sure its anything but coincidence, but makes you wonder.
