Amazing player and person. Played with big shoulders on the team's run to the E8. So many defensive highlights with his athleticism and hustle to get back on seemingly unstoppable broken plays. And we won't see a guy with his fearlessness in transition again for a long time (said that about Ayo and was thrilled to be wrong though). Will definitely root for him in the league.

Very few others I admire more than TJ - the very embodiment of Fighting Illini spirit. He fought through hell and rose above one of the darkest adversities any young man can face - I can’t imagine the pain. Yet was so proud of the way he handled himself throughout…text book.

Wish I could be there in person to watch that Jersey rising to the rafters…symbolic of his time in Champaign and how he faced the challenges and rose up to become one of the all-time Illini favorites. We salute you, and we thank you, Terrance Shannon, Jr.
